Probably because they also know this:

...We are aware that, in the past, ALPA and SWA have held pilot polling regarding the mandatory retirement age. We know anecdotally that approximately one-third of pilot members support a change to the pilot retirement age.

How disingenuous can an org be?

Yeah 🤦‍♂️🤢🤮. That is really embarrassing. Not against 67. But that's some disingenuous BS. Just admit you want more time&money.

These guys generally don’t like the younger generation complaining about house ownership struggles.

Then they whine themselves because they had it tough and need to find ways to manipulate things their way.

They won’t feel satisfied until they suck the system dry and leave us with the consequences.

Looks to me there’s a lot of whining coming from both sides of this argument. Why don’t everyone just admit from both besides this about greed and money. I know this FO at major who own 2 airplanes and is always bragging about it. Then his wife turns around and tells me one day they cannot afford a house because he hasn’t been able to upgrade yet. Choices people?

Wouldn't it be more logical to more heavily weigh future years of employment and dues since younger folks will have longer to live under any changes?

Its not greedy asking for status quo to remain.

It’s selfish if the reason why is because it is harmful to you if it changes, but not greedy.

Greedy is asking for more.

He sounds like a future Lepf’er - poorly managed finances, two airplanes, sounds like marriage troubles brewing as well.
Gotta ask, are you working as a New Hire Pilot Mentor?

Let me see if I follow the logic train:

LEPFer: "I need the age extension because of all that's happened to me in my career"

Junior: "ok like what?"

LEPFer: "Well age 65 was horrible for me and the industry"

Junior: "yeah you're right, that did suck huh? So I agree, age extensions are pretty terrible so I don't wanna do that for me or the industry as a whole"

LEPFer: "oh the industry as a whole huh? Why do you pretend to care about other pilots? You Mother Theresa or something? Stop pretending you're not as greedy and as willing to through everyone under the bus as I am"

Is that where the crappy LEPF logic is at? If I accept that something that may negatively affect me will also negatively affect others suddenly make me some bleeding heart philanthropist?

Being greedy would be taking something and depriving someone else of what they are owed. That's not a junior pilot. Keeping status quo is not depriving anyone of anything that they didn't already have.
