Nothing anyone says on any of these pages really changes anything.

How come those who can afford it in those 32 countries come to the 33rd to get anything but minor procedures done?

That crowd refused to answer that question earlier because the answer is that none of them would even consider moving to one of these wonderful countries to experience their healthcare.

I'd live in most of those countries in a heartbeat like many of my friends have. It's fun to visit them. If it worked for my family, I'd be there.

What's interesting is the US citizens are the largest demographic of "outbound" medical tourism spending nearly 2B dollars annually.

Senate confirmed 48 “en bloc” nominees today. Jeff Anderson (big raise the retirement age guy) wasn’t one of them. There isn’t a scheduled vote tomorrow for more nominees.
So, it looks like the United States probably won’t have an ICAO ambassador by the ICAO session next week. Anthony Clare will continue in the temporary position. He hasn’t stated either way if he supports increasing the age.
It’s a blow to EPAS/LEPF.

So why does the Saudi Royal Family go to Memorial Sloan Kettering for cancer treatments? They're not going to France, or Germany, or Switzerland. They come to the USA. Wonder why?

I guess if you want a BBL or something like that it makes sense to run to Mexico or Columbia or somewhere else. But people that are seriously ill and need the best and want the best come here.

Because they’re insanely wealthy? Some of these hospitals have suites and a concierge. You think they put them next to normies? Same reason they show up to UPenn for care. Care is great if you can foot the bill. They also don’t have to call their insurance company for approval before treatment. You think you’re going to get the same treatment as them? Best healthcare money can buy.

It’s like that Southpark episode with Magic Johnson. He revealed the cure for AIDS by opening a room that was filled with cash.

Let’s be real, medical tourism is largely for things that aren’t covered by insurance or nationalized healthcare systems.
