My example was regarding equal protection under the law.

But it would almost certainly be illegal under equal protections. Once it's determined that 67 is safe, you cannot allow some folks (kids) to go to 67 but cap others at 65.083. Federal law cannot supersede equal protections (constitution).

Might be a work around, ie claim that for safety reasons you want to slow roll the age increase and monitor the results carefully over time. It would be challenged but might hold up OK.
Thats what you would do if you were concerned about safety. The people pushing this are only concerned about their pocket books.

It still ruins the QOL of the career by stretching the earnings out further over a lifetime and encouraging people to work thru the best (healthiest) years of their retirement.

That's sounds a bit hyperbolic.... or lacking objectivity based on past "Black Swan" events.

ruin /roo͞′ĭn/

noun

  1. The state of being physically destroyed, collapsed, or decayed.
    "The castle fell into ruin."
  2. The state of being extensively harmed or damaged.
"Our vacation plans are in ruins."
  3. Poverty of bankruptcy.
"Their decision brought the bank to ruin."

Exactly my point, thanks for making it. There is a big difference between extending the age by 2 years and losing your pension due to your company going bankrupt. The age extension would be a blip(some it helps, some its hinders) a banrkutcy wiping out ALL QOL, ensuing 48% paycuts anf loss of pension would certainly be closer to the definition "ruining a career.

Or are they both the same to you?
