This is not about Iran. Or Israel. It’s about China and Russia. The US doesn’t get any oil from Iran. Zero. But China sure does.

Would you endorse combat ops USA vs China over Taiwan?

Iran and Russia are allies. Iran out of the picture helps Ukraine and increases pressure on Russia. Remember all the Ukraine flags everywhere? Isnt that a good thing?

Control of Venezuela and choking the strait directly puts a cog in China and Russias gearbox.

Taking out the entire Irani navy and most of its air defenses with limited civilian casualties followed by economic blockade is a positive in my book for now. France and UK are finally sending something. The rest of Europe will need to step up, which they will.

Wait, you don’t think that Iran has threatened and attacked the US and the west at large for 47 years and developed nuclear material to continue that threat? Please let me know your dealer.

Taking down a nuclear armed terror state is definitely in the strategic interest of the US. Nothing to do with Israel.

So we bombed Iran to help Ukraine? That's definitely a take. You think we don't get involved if not for Israel? That's hilarious.

Oh so this was never about Iran or Israel. It was China and Russia.

Weird. First it was we were under imminent threat. Then it was Israel was about to attack, our bases would have been hit, so we joined Israel.

Now it’s actually a reverse uno on Russia and China, via Iran oil.

Do you seriously expect me to believe the acumen for anyone in charge to make your scenario true? Come on. Not even AAdvocate or vaxedtothemask grasped at straws like that.

I still didn’t get an answer for what some here on APC say that Americans should have the will to “carry it through.” What do those words in the quote mean, exactly?

But they are not a nuclear armed terror state. And the WH press release article last year said Iran’s nuclear facilities were obliterated and suggestions otherwise are fake news.

Not you, but some people here are still pointing to daily trades of oil on the market -paper price - as a true measure of economic impact. Reality is going to hit them this summer.

But us pilots on APC making multiple six figures are largely insulated from price fluctuations of gas and grocery. But long term impact of oil can certainly impact airline growth plans. Or a certain carrier declaring BKcy. Downgrades and even furloughs could easily come about from this.

There is no peaceful purpose to enrich uranium beyond 20%. The IAEA had already detected them enriching beyond 80%. Any agreement with them is a waste of time.

This is true, nobody in their right mind thinks IR is spending billions (a large % of GDP) on peaceful civilian nuclear power when they're sitting on vast reserves on natural gas. Maybe Team Iran will claim they're worried about global warming 🤣

Any agreement needs to be enforceable and verifiable, which of course has been problematic in the past.

Fortunately they don't seem to have gotten to 90%+, which is the real threshold for highly capable and flexible weapons.

Not only Iran, Venezuela also. Both hurt China and Russia.

almost looks like there was a plan

also don’t forget the Panama Canal.Once dominated by China influence. Trump pressured the leadership to change control. Liberals protested, now the US has a more favorable position in Panama. We have Venzyela under our basic control as far as they do what we say.

Finally, what was the major aspect of the Greenland “war”? Shipping lanes.
