ME THREE
Redeye has hit the nail squarely on the head, i think i posted this once before ,anyhow a good example of what is going on is a conversation i had with a United senior capt,---"Randal OF COURSE i couldn`t wait to retire, when i had 4 million in my pension fund, NOW i have 400,000, which = i need to continue working, and hopefully saving, and since i love aviation Y not in aviation."

In Redeye's world everyone must have at least two decades experience at any subject before expressing an opinion. That too is a symptom of old timers disease. Perhaps you had better get checked out?

I have always said you have the right to your opinion. That being said you attempt to come across as a Veteran expert of the industry. I am sorry but 2 years at a commuter and 3 years at a non-sked doesn't quite give you Expert credentials.
I am not the one offering "shoot from the hip" comments, you are.
You continually spout Airline Captains making 300K per year. I asked you what Airline pays this, you never answered.
You just spouted how the $3000 fares from JFK to LAX can't last...........There hasn't been a 3000 fare (Except on MGM Grand) on that route in years. I offered evidence to the contrary from Airline websites. Y
You recent retort on why Capts want to work past 60. "Those Old Capts have no life" and have no life to retire to.....Give me a break. Do even know the difference between an Difined Benefit and Defined Contribution plan. Do you know what the max retirement payout under the PBGC is to a United Widebody Capt or USAir widebody Capt? Do you even know what the PBGC is?
Do you not have your eyes open with what has happend to the Pensions in the industry? Again you offer no come back other than some wise crack about some poor old guy with no life............
I'll grant you, try working 30 years in a job and earning a decent pension only to have it taken away..........you have 25 years to go before you can comment with credibility..
You also made some claim about a 500 hour Military guys flying C-5's. Do you even know whay your talking about? Did you spend any time in the Military? Have you been though a Military Flight training program?
Sky, most of us on this forum see it but you don't. You have Airline Envy. You are very bitter towards the industry. You had one round of bad luck which I have stated I am truly sorry for. (I can speak from experience on the ups and downs).
You want to come back and fly with the rest of us, but for your own personal reasons you choose not to. Again your choice and I can respect that. I (and thousands of others) can speak from experience on the Ups and downs of this Industry. Many of us stuck with it, you opted out, and that is certainly OK. It might even prove to be a brilliant move. No one one this forum paints a rosy picture of the industry. True many of us have seen the good years and the bad. You unfortuately have seen only mostly bad.
The fact still remains......your very short troubled time in the industry (2 years commuter and 3 start-up) has tarnished your overall outlook and your opinions. As I said you are certainly entitled to your opinions.........Just please don't attempt to Promote yourself as a Seasoned expert on AirLines.......because you are not.
Have a nice day
Have a very pleasant day
