Now that wouldn't be looking out for #1, would it? Who are you people to presume that a total stranger should make sacrifices for YOUR benefit?

Your problem son is that you think you are playing on a one man team. The truth of the matter is that professional pilots work as a team which you will never be part of or understand. I imagine our troops in Iraq would love to have you covering their back. Most would never come home because you being a total stranger would be off in a corner jacking off to your own tune while they get their asses shot off defending a lifestyle you think you have coming to you. Perhaps your calling in life is flying solo and playing solitaire. I thought Browntail had the patent rights on stupidity - I now stand corrected!

If I was in a platoon of men, I wouldn't be a total stranger to them. I would depend on them, and they on me. There can be no parallels drawn. If I worked for your company and/or were a part of your union, I wouldn't be a stranger. We'd depend on each other. However, I am none of those things, and would have no problems crossing your picket line. You're a stranger, and of no import to me.

First of all moron, I am not imported - learn to spell. Secondly you would never be in a platoon of men because you have to be one. Thirdly, if you are so bold to share your philosophy with us on the forum are you also bold enough to share your name, even in a private message to me. I can assure you that you would never work for my company. I know you don't have the balls to do that as rapists, molesters and people like you like to hide behind their cloak of secrecy and spew their ignorance and perversions without having to pay the consequences. I think your life will be filled with pain and grief, well deserved I might add. I am through wasting my time with you.

You whack job....before you go, at least have a quick vocabulary lesson:

im·port ( P ) Pronunciation Key (m-pôrt, -prt, mpôrt, -prt)
n. (mpôrt, -prt)
1. Something imported.
2. The act or occupation of importing goods or materials.
3. Meaning; signification. See Synonyms at meaning.
4. Importance; significance: See Synonyms at importance.

You lack perspective. Many of those who have been in the professional pilot community for some time consider themselves a brotherhood of sorts, regardless of company or union membership. Crossing a picket line is a betrayal of that brotherhood, and you'll be shunned for it. "Looking out for #1" demands you don't commit an act that'd result in your being blacklisted by everyone else in your profession.

However, your use of the word "import" is indeed correct. Sorry, calcapt.

Sorry, I don't agree with you.

If all professional pilots worked as a team, pilot income would be EXACTLY the same (commensurate with experience) independent of airline-worked-for.

And there would be no under-cutting.

And Delta pilots wouldnt be suffering a 30% (or whatever) pay cut....and regionals wouldnt be able to hire a new F/O for 30K a year....

IF ALL PROFESSIONAL PILOTS WORKED AS A TEAM THE FLIGHT LEVELS WOULD BE ABSENT OF ACTIVITY EVERY TIME A CEO THREATENED TO CUT YOUR PAY.

OK, I'm an outsider....just a stupid M.D. ....but I'm passionate about the airline industry returning respect to where it counts the most....

IN THE COCKPIT.

But in order for that to happen a new motto must be indoctrinated...

NO PILOT, NO TAKEOFF.....

accompanied by a MASS-MEDIA dissemination of facts....namely that YOUR FAMILY IN THE BACK OF AN AIRLINER DOES NOT WANT IT'S FATE IN THE HANDS OF A LOW TIME PILOT WHO WAS HIRED SIMPLY BECAUSE SAID LOW TIME PILOT WAS WILLING TO TAKE THE JOB, AND SAID JOB WAS OFFERED BY A COMPANY THAT KNOWS SAID LOW TIME PILOTS WILL WORK FOR NEARLY-NOTHING IN ORDER TO FLY A SHINY TUBE THAT BURNS KEROSENE.

uhhhh....all of you pay union dues....

so why isnt your union being proactive, educating the people that can MAKE A DIFFERENCE with their opinion, namely,

THE FLYING PUBLIC???????

1) Make it harder to gain access to ANY airliner cockpit.

2) Limit access....make it impossible for a shmoe like me to enter an airliner cockpit....I shouldnt be able to pay thirty-large to a flight school that guarantees me a shot at the cockpit.
Greatness does not evolve by offering a spot to EVERYONE.

3) SO, YOU'VE GOT RICH PARENTS THAT WILL PAY FOR YOUR CERTIFICATES??? .....SORRY. THAT ISNT GOOD ENOUGH. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO REAPPLY WHEN YOU CAN FLY AN ILS IN A 737 INVERTED.

True. A bright-eyed debt monkey with SJS undercutting everyone for a job that pays a demeaning wage is just as, if not more, detrimental to the industry-wide "cause" as a strike breaker.
However, equating either of them with rapists and molesters is ridiculous, and quite frankly damages the credibility of the argument.
