Delta New Hires/Class Dates/Cleared to Train

I have also noticed that lately a lot of the captains on the 88 are miserable to fly with. I call them "b1tchers" cause they b1tch about everything, the company, the union, anything. I just usually sit there and listen but on a four day a few weeks back I finally couldn't take it anymore and on the last layover I ditched the guy and went and had a few quiet beers to myself. Seems like the ER guys I flew with were a lot happier.

Depends on where the 320's would come from if they opened a base in NYC or ATL. There is no real answer as we are only a year in to two to three years of shifting everything around.
I will say in a static situation, the 320 in MSP and DTW was short this summer.

This is from the latest code-a-phone (Aug 27.) The wording is not entirely clear regarding "additional vacancies" for new hires and furlough bypass. Does this mean we continue to hire? Here's to hoping!
Finally, I know many of you are eagerly awaiting news on the next Advance Entitlement/Surplus Bid, which we plan to post during the first half of September. This bid will continue to position us for summer 2011 flying. As of right now, Crew Resources is expecting the bid to include some additional 747-400, 777, and 767ER positions, along with the closing of the SLC 767 categories and the opening of the SLC 767ER categories. We will create some additional vacancies for new hire and furlough recall pilots. Crew Resources is currently analyzing the latest data they have received from Network and will finalize the exact positions that will be on the bid posting over the next two to three weeks.
