Delta New Hires/Class Dates/Cleared to Train
#422
I have also noticed that lately a lot of the captains on the 88 are miserable to fly with. I call them "b1tchers" cause they b1tch about everything, the company, the union, anything. I just usually sit there and listen but on a four day a few weeks back I finally couldn't take it anymore and on the last layover I ditched the guy and went and had a few quiet beers to myself. Seems like the ER guys I flew with were a lot happier.
As for me... I love that plane.

Speaking of that, the letter was in the V-files this week concerning MD90 training.

I have had personal experience with Kit Darby, I would not give that guy a penny of my hard earned money.

Super,
A statement of opinion is a defense to a libel claim in most jurisdictions, but not all. So, I'd still be careful with that one, if that's what you were trying to do.

I owe her this much, so let me say how cool Judy is. Her policy is (or at least was) that her prep lasts until you get hired; if you don't get this job, she'll work with you on the next one, for free. As long as it takes.
I prepped for a job in early 2008; got the job. Didn't see work due to the economy. Months later I had a different interview. I tried to pay her because she had fulfilled her end of the agreement - it wasn't her fault I didn't go to work. She wouldn't take it. I got hired at the 2nd interview; didn't see work due to the economy. 2 years later I got the Delta interview. Refreshed again; she still didn't take my money. Just asked for recs.
Things might be a little different now because she's not solo, so I wouldn't expect that kind of deal. But I think that says it all. She's all class.
One piece of advice: if you think you're going to get an interview in the next year or so, do the prep now, or sooner than later anyway; then refresh when the invite comes. She's really busy too, and like some have said, the scheduling just might not be possible.

I saw the new hire class recently, I was very pleased to see that there is a wide range of military pilots (est 2/3), and varying ages as well (pretty even match of gray hairs to not). It's good to see that pilots can come from many different walks of life and be successful in being hired into legacy 121's
