Congrats.

Are those not just to place us new hires in your system or is that considered a done deal with the bid before class?

They wouldn't be placing you there unless there were vacancies. Its all based on vacancies. Nobody just gets placed.

Let me bold the key words here:

...We will create some additional vacancies for new hire and furlough recall pilots....

The current (up to now) number of new hire and furlough recall pilots were brought back/on to fill vacancies from the last AE...

Cheers

What Georgetg said. Its additional "slots", so newhires will be beneath you and recall bypass will be above you.

From what I heard this week (unofficially). Delta will hire 40-68 pilots per month for the next 48 mos.<--------I dont know what is going on or how these numbers are spewed out or if they will even come true ,but all Im doing is passing info that was shared.

Many caveats to hiring: THE ECONOMY, TERRORISM, HURRICANES, DISEASES, LABOR DISPUTES, STOCK MARKETS, OIL, MERGERS etc, etc, etc

Just hang in there, I "think" things will be good for the BIG "D". Why? Because at this point we are a MULTINATIONAL company.

Just found out the Sep 20 class is pushed back to Sep 27. Apparently it's to accommodate scheduling and reduce delay in between indoc & sims. Guess they're getting busy.

I very much like those numbers.

I expect to hear an announcement regarding more hiring once the 2011 block hours are finalized.

The wording is counter-intuitive. You can't "create additional vacancies." You can create "additional positions." Vacancies, by nature, are already existing unfilled positions. Maybe DAL should hire folks who can write. Just saying.

well you will still be senior to me with those last 4 digits. I really don't care what aircraft as i really only care about the base. Hopefully MSP goes junior.... remember it's really cold in MSP and those walkarounds are brutual from november thru march

I am a compass flow so i will not see you in class, being held back for 90 days. Keep in touch, let me know what to expect and how the indoc goes. See you eventually.
