Fish,
ALPA hasn't acted like a "union" for 15 years, only people like you can't figure that out because you are trying so hard to be a part of the MEC. However a junior Alaska Airlines F/O, that everyone at your airline laughs at can only get credibility if he gets into the union gang. You are embarrassing your airline and ALPA with all that "tough union talk" crap. You sound like a religious extremist with all your judgment of pilots and career choices. Next thing you will be blowing yourself up in front of an abortion clinic! GET A LIFE! Also, with VX and B6 picking your airlines pockets with better service and a better product, one day you may be furloughed. I will look for you at Home Depo little man, you know, with all that high and mighty "union talk" and not flying for substandard wages and all. I will hire you to build my deck at one of my two houses paid for by a NON-UNION JOB!
Also, if B6 pilots decide to take the union plunge, then so be it. That's a choice JetBlue pilots will make, for better or worse. THEY will make that choice, they don't need some Alaska Airlines mutt F/O telling them what they should do. Neither does VX. So worry about yourself. Last time I bought a ticket from SEA-SFO, VX was packed, Alaska was wide open. I would be worried about beating VX's product with what you fly. Not trying to suck them into the culture and problems that ALPA created at Alaska.
Your fellow pilot group think your a clown! Grow up Fish.
I have a life to live and a high paying, NON-UNION Captain job to get back to. So good luck with your union promotion duties! ALPA is shrinking every year, they need you!

Apparently, YOU care about my opinion since generated your little hissy fit.
You might want to face one little fact. I'm not the only person who is totally disgusted with the kind of "man" who takes a non-Union job that undercuts everything Union pilots have worked, sweated, bled and died for since commercial aviation took to the skies in the '20s.
Put on a VX or AGT uniform and become the pariah of the industry. That's your choice. Fortunately, the B6 guys have learned the folly of the non-Union way. They'll be ALPA soon and will be welcomed into our brotherhood with open arms. Hopefully, they'll realize the cancer that VX and AGT are on our profession shortly after that.

Wow what a thread hijacking Fish has put together. With all due respect fish(which isnt very much), please go somewhere else and let the subject of this thread continue for the sake of those who have genuine interest in applying to VX. Im so sick of seeing your dumbarss hijack EVERY legitimate thread, and make it about your beliefs. You have single handedly lowered my opinion of what an ALaska pilot is. Sorry to say but you seem to be so self centered and arrogant about your knowledge it makes me sick. I may just stop coming to this forum, but I wont stop backing up my beliefs whats best for aviation today..... not in the 1920s. Idiot.
Sorry to the others on here for my disrespectful rant, but I cant take his crap anymore. And to hear he's an FO only makes it worse. You know his type..."PIC right seat".

I could not agree more. Someone start a thread for vx bashing. And moderators please kindly keep conversions not pertaining to the thread off this one. Vx will be moving into a major hiring phase in the next couple months. It would be nice to have a place where people can go to get info about it.

I love it! You guys fit right into the NeoCon vision of the Brave New World. Let's let these Non-Union "gentlemen" speak for themselves, shall we?
Thank you. I try.
How does anyone get in the cockpit with you and your ego, Capt. $120?
I think the Koch brothers are looking for a caddy for their foursome this weekend. Perhaps you should go and absorb some more of their anti-Union "wisdom."
Load factors? Do you even know why you have a reciprocal jumpseat agreement with AS? Its because our Chief Pilot knows that its easier for our guys to commute SFO-SEA on your 50% load factor airplanes. And that's the ONLY reason.
Again, anything you say, Capt. $120 an hour.
Wisdom knows no "seat position." Sorry you "gentlemen" can't recognize the damage pilots willing to prostitute themselves for 2/3rds do to the piloting profession.
I guess you're more interested in continuing the "oldest" profession. Well done! At least there is one group of people out there who admire what you're doing for them.
Thank you. I try.

"Again, anything you say, Capt. $120 an hour"??
Fish, I don't work for VX nor B6, but I would if I didn't have the position I have. I am just sick of people who know nothing about this industry yap off about what some ALPA guy told him on day one of indoc. You say that you have never worked at a non-union carrier, so by your own words you know NOTHING about how it works at carriers like VX and B6. You only know what some ALPA pimp told you. You should quit Alaska Airlines ASAP because here is your future little man:
1) Career F/O due to the fact that Alaska is small, and getting smaller because they give away flying to Skywest pilots and don't have a product that can compete with the new generation carriers;
then you get furloughed! (So Home Depo for you)
2) Some large legacy carrier gets sucked into buying Alaska (All 120 odd Airplanes. That's such aggressive growth and opportunity after all the time Alaska has been in business! Wow) Then you get stapled on the bottom of AA or Delta's list. Nice! You know what that means Fish..... Furloughed and Home Depo for you for 6+ years, then career F/O!!
You have ZERO security in your position, and you don't even get it. The pilots you talk to on this forum have worked at Non-Union and Union carriers, you have not. So YOU are not qualified to speak about VX or B6. Go away now and keep you blinders on to what is happening around you.
Enjoy your upcoming Furlough. FISH= Career F/O, Full time Home Depo boy. Full time ALPA fool!
Good luck VXers! Your product is strong, keep on keeping on! I will enjoy watching your success!
