If I had gone to Alaska, Delta, United, or Southwest! instead of VA in 2008, I'd be making less than I am TODAY. Those other airlines must be bottom feeders, right?

Perhaps you should do some math considering where you would have been if you had kept your RJ Capt. job until you got hired by a legacy, the wages you would have earned over the entire career. Then compare that to working for substandard wages for a company that very well could be out of business in 3 years.

WOW! That's something to brag about. RJ wages for A320 flying. Well done.
As far as experience level, it seems an internal rec is more important.

We have been told internally that interviews for the next wave of airplanes begin in mid Aug. I would assume calls would go out end of July or slightly later.
Class size and dates depend on sim availability. As for competitive numbers, good question. If the company posts this I will pass it along, but the last time they posted this was well into the class calls. Last time it was 5K to 20K with lots of JPIC. Almost all had extensive 121 experience.
I am sure the competition will change as others start to hire. Attrition has been very low, single digits.

I know a number of people there and all of them are happy. I jump seated on ‘em a while back and same thing, happy clams. The CA was furloughed legacy and will not be going back. I’ll have to back up the others by saying they do put out a superior product. It’s like they're competing against international carriers, not the thread bare domestics.
The one thing I’ll say is a common theme among the crews I’ve talked to is that they are sitting quietly with current wage/bennies, and are hoping, strategizing for increases in the future as the company gains market traction. I’m sure a VX pilot could step in and add a couple cents. I’d be delighted to fly for them but feel it’s a long shot. We’ll see.

From: 737 Capt.
Just got word from a friend that I recommended that interviewing begins again starting Wednesday the 27th.
