Did not the Northwest pilots and mechanics negotiate a pay and benefits package reduction in exchange for NWA stock in 1993/94 as part of a NWA restructuring to prevent bankruptcy at that time?

"1993 JULY: The Air Line Pilots Association's Master Executive Council averts a NWA Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing by voting 24-1 on behalf of its members to accept concessions totaling $365 million the first year. The other unions, lenders, and vendors must agree to the restructuring by August 1. Concessions over three years total $886 million. In exchange for their concessions, employees get three seats on the board of directors and up to 37.5 percent ownership of the company."

As a wide body captain, I presume you were employed at NWA during that timeframe. Is this a correct statement?
Yes, the pilot's union voted for it. After years of uninterrupted increases in pay and benefits, the union agreed to concessions along with an equal amount of ownership and control of the airline. It was a direct investment that paid off very well when the stock over doubled in one year. It was also done during a weak revenue environment for the industry.

As I predicted in an earlier post, some Frontier guys will try to justify what you've done by portraying as hypocrites anyone who has ever given salary back for any reason regardless of the revenue environment. In your world NWA in 1993 is the exact same thing as you today. As predicted.

You do know don't you, that many will not forget?
Exactly as predicted. After years of Frontier pilots gaining in salary, your union leadership voted in a small pay decrease given as a direct investment in 37% of Frontier stock and 3 seats on the board. And you did it during a weak revenue environment for the whole industry. I guess you guys did good after all.

Soooo, in 1993, YOU gave concessions in exchange for an equity stake in NWA, and that gamble paid off very well for you.

Then, why are you so critical of the Frontier pilots that are taking the same gamble, as opposed to certain liquidation??

For 15 years prior to 1993, NWA pilots gained in salary and QOL consistently until just prior to the 1993 investment.

For the last 15 years at Frontier, what have been your salary gains?

2008 = 15% increased salary for Frontier pilots
2007 = 15% increased salary for Frontier pilots
2006 = 15% increased salary for Frontier pilots
2005 = 15% increased salary for Frontier pilots
2004 = 15% increased salary for Frontier pilots
2003 = 15% increased salary for Frontier pilots
2002 = 15% increased salary for Frontier pilots
2001 = 15% increased salary for Frontier pilots
2000 = 15% increased salary for Frontier pilots
1999 = 15% increased salary for Frontier pilots
1998 = 15% increased salary for Frontier pilots
1997 = 15% increased salary for Frontier pilots
1996 = 15% increased salary for Frontier pilots

That would equal about 300% over the last 15 years. You guys did that?

Typical Captain salary when Frontier began was about $50,000/yr I believe. Top pay is now well over $150,000/yr.

I'll ask the question again by posting it below:

I'm trying to find out your annual salary increases or decreases in the last 15 years.
