I agree that not going with SW was one of the dumbest choices ever made. This job is about money and quality of life. SWA would have offered improvements regardless of the seniority outcome.

Southwest planned no furloughs of F9 pilots and has never furloughed a pilot.

You're missing the point. Of course I would pull over and help him, but that's not the kind of thing I'm talking about. There are good pilots at RAH that are very customer service oriented and have a good head on their shoulders. There are those that couldn't care less if the customer was hot cold, whatever, as long as they're getting what they want. Those are the people that F9 doesn't need. Unfortunately, you can't pick and choose the ones you want working for you when you're basing it on seniority alone. This is what I'm talking about. If you scroll up and read the posts I've written within this thread, you'll see that it's not about the plane you fly. It's about the kind of person you are, and again, there is no guarantee what kind of person you're going to get when you deal with seniority alone. I hope I've cleared that up for you.
However right now your RAH bro's flying the FFD side are keeping you employed by flying the cash cow. As long as that is the case you really don't have much of an argument. We're tied together for better or worse. Being an MKE based guy generally the F9 guys stay on their half of the crew room, and only recently have a few guys even said hi in passing. You might come to understand us better by engaging in non-union based conversations. The only time anyone I can remember has taken a seat on our side was the RPC guys that showed up one day. I haven't been in the DEN room yet but I can imagine a scene much the same. Bridge the gap. We're getting more ****ed at you guys by the day for the "holier than thou" attitude, and now we all feel like you are trying to screw our efforts to finally get paid by BB, WH and the other goons by giving into this obvious BB ploy. Stop lowering the bar. We all want to move on to something better, and this just lowers the entire industry. no more concessions.

The old Frontier guys that I knew decades ago would be mortified at this latest act of cowardice by you "new" Frontier pilots. It's clear the rest of the profession doesn't matter to you. The rest of the profession won't forget.

Would you throw that same dart at the United pilots for the HUGE cuts they took in '02/'03?

I don't think it's hyperbolic at all. I didn't used to think of Frontier pilots that way, but now I do. I now believe Frontier pilots will accept any and all concessions to save what they view as their culture and way of life. This latest concessionary cave-in proves that.

Swelblog / Swelbar on Airlines - Articles - Autos, Airlines and the Question of UnionRelevance
"Today, the goal of most airlines is to reach “responsible” contracts with union employees with costs sustainable over the term of the contract. That’s a much better approach than the patterns of the past, when buying labor peace in one contract only forced airlines into asking for concessions before the amendable date because they could no longer afford the terms. And sustainability benefits employees, too, particularly if it avoids the need for concessionary bargaining in a downturn and provides protection on the upside to prevent companies from earning outsized profits on labor’s back."
I don't expect you to agree, but maybe, just maybe, you could understand that there are other points of view that are relevant.
And I don't remember electing you to be the voice of "the rest of the profession." Get over yourself.

We got some big boy talk going on here. Good thing this is the internet otherwise someone might have to get taken to the back room and "Talk About It". Lighten up people. I've been furloughed, you've been furloughed and you to will be furloughed at some point. "It's like playing cards with my brothers kids around here" Johnny Tylor-Tombstone.

A convenient excuse.
The Law is a "convenient excuse", really?
Another excuse.
Not hardly.
Its already gone for good, thanks to guys like you, VX, and AGT non-Union pilots who have no trouble undercutting contracts and displacing Union pilots. It makes me want to puke when I see an E-190 in Midwest Express paint.
Guys like me???
You don't know me, or have any idea who I work for.........but "guys like you", who refuse to accept the reality of the matter, fly your little 737's around all day b!tch'n about how someone else is the reason for your lack of successes. You and your RAH "brothers" are solely responsible for any anger directed towards you for helping kill off Midwest and stabbing 400 Union pilots in the back.
Hint: I don't work for RAH, never have and actually work for a union carrier that "wouldn't" blame others for their own mistakes. Oh.......and I've never even thought of having Alaska Airlines on my list of possibilities. If I wanted to continue to fly "commuter-style" flying for other Major Airlines, I'd have stayed at the commuters from where I came. Have fun with the fish.
