I did? I said that? Try quoting, when you want to quote, instead of MISquoting.
My point was, and yes, you are the only one who doesn't get it, screwing your union brethren because you DECIDED to have a pack of kids and no financial security is a pretty pathetic way to conduct yourself. Then again, that is just a limp-wristed excuse anyway, like 'Pede said.
The fact that fungus like you leach your livelihood from the union's hard work right up until the moment of truth and then bail at the most selfish moment possible is just the cherry on top.
Methinks you doth protest too much. You are an ex-scab, without a doubt. Though equally certain, you somehow fail to classify yourself as such. After all, YOU had a good reason...

You're damned straight that person is to be 'labeled'! Maybe careful consideration should be given to one's finances before DECIDING to have three little 'mouthes' [whatever they are] to feed!
Better they should adversely affect the ability of thousands of others to make a decent wage for the remainder of their careers? Wow, talk about selfish and short-sighted.
If you work for a union carrier, then you need to be willing to hold the line with your brothers. Those before you who were willing to do so are the only reason you have decent pay to begin with (duh)!
Where's the misinterpretation? it's clear to me.
Family comes first... that's what life is all about.

Maybe family comes first BUT be prepared. And if circumstances require you to scab be ready to endure the scars of the label you will be marked with. I'm sure if you ask most scabs today if their decision was a good one they would say Hell No!

Crossing a picket line or scabbing is unacceptable. Take a part time job as an instructor at the local airport, wait tables at a restaurant, whatever... but your obligations to your family come first.

captjns, I'm still not seeing where it says, "Your union should come before your family." I see where it says that maybe you shouldn't have a large family until you can support them in security. If you are in a jam, AND feel the need to scab because you weren't smart enough to do that, and thereby draft the rest of us to support your family, well, be prepared to be regarded with all the respect you're due.
I'd rather be poor for a spell. I've done that, and it's not usually fatal.

This was a question posed by FMI from post 52
"But what happens to the F/O who has, say 3 little ones at home with mouthes to feed. He (she) has no idea how long the said strike could take place (up to 3 yrs. from what I have seen posted here) and doesn't have the financial means to stand in a picket line. Basically agree's with the union pilots in that things have to change, yet HAS to work. Is this erson "labeled" for the rest of their career?"
Your response to FMI's supposition was:
