Are you serious man? This has NOTHING to do with transparency. It has everything to do with LEGALITY under ALPA's own bylaws. This resolution being ignored by the MEC cannot happen...yet it IS happening. That's why all your bluster and chest beating about recalling reps and changing the bylaws is so silly.

Legal resolutions delayed = the will of the pilot group denied. End of story.

Also, ALPA has horrendous potential legal issues/damages as well as a conflict of interest wrt regionals. How about dues and National bloat?

Now, what looks easier.
Absolutely correct.

Look at the agenda for next months meeting. Not ignored, but I too agree that a result needs to come of it.

Carl, specifically, which by-law is being ignored, or is in non compliance?

Couple of questions? First isn't the head of ALPA a Delta guy; second what is to stop the company from giving Delta pilots everything they want then filing for bankruptcy and letting the courts give out what they think are fair.

Maybe because its a Bee Eff Dee to do into BK, especially these days, and is incredibly expensive. All to undo SWA plus reasonable premiums? Empty threat.

You do realize that management works for the shareholders. In bankruptcy the shareholders get wiped out. Do you think the shareholders want the business plan to be built around them losing all their invested capital?

I was under the impression that the DAL pay rates, trip guarantees, duty rigs etc were much better than AMR, UAL/CAL, USAIR AMwest, but not as good as SWA.....No?

You can't file chapter 11 on a whim. You have to actually be bankrupt. In addition you lose all control of the company and risk many different very painful outcomes such as takeovers, breakups ect...
Delta came within 1 vote of just such a takeover/breakup when they filed before. If a solvent company files chapter 11 the creditors would simply take the assets and sell them shutting down the company. They would however get paid.
The role of the judge in a bankruptcy filing is to protect the creditors. By law that is what he has to do.
