Yea.....Go to a state school with a big football/basketball program. Talk to the hot college girls, make friends outside aviation, marry a blonde girl that is in law/medical/nursing school. etc etc.
If this website was around when I was making my decision I would have near 75k less debt. I saw the part about your grandfather, and that is all well and good, but is it worth an extra 100k for you to say that "Riddle is a part of your life"? They stopped being a part of my life the second I finished there and stopped giving them money. Every airline that I have interviewed at were more impressed that I worked at Capeair than that I went to Riddle.
I have roughly 100k in loans left to payoff (way less than you'll have after 6 years at Riddle). My airline pilot salary thus far has not come close to being able to pay anything more than the interest on them.
Edit: I forgot to mention that you DO NOT GET the "4 year college experience" at Riddle. I had to travel every weekend over to UF/FSU/USF/UCF to get anything close. Spring break and the cheerleading national championships are fun though!(which you won't get in Prescott anyway)

Mind you, I have had a good career, military, a bit of airline, back in the military, now a great corporate operator. And guys here think I'm nuts for liking corporate, and they took a 45% pay cut and no pension. The only pay cut I took was EAL and I was happy to leave.

I am happy you have had a good career but when I came out of the military no one I knew was applying at EAL because it was clearly a dead end road as early as the mid 80s....I have flown with a lot of FO's who flew good corporate gigs while furloughed, and all are very happy to be back....to each his own I guess.

**** I'm not bragging. I'm stating a fact. Sure I only make $125K a year now, but I'll upgrade again when the age 65er's leave. Actually, I can hold captain now, but not in my base.

I will pass on the offer though.
You might want to cut back on the arrogance...

I realize this is a pax thread but you will have an advantage if you go to an aviation university like ERAU if you want to work for FDX or a few others....FDX now has hired a company to do the hiring and recently made a presentation on the new hiring process...you get a bunch more points towards getting the interview if you attended an aviation school...I know 2 friends who have similar backgrounds and the one from ERAU is in MD11 school and the ohter has heard nothing yet!!...I understand this company is being looked at by other airlines to do their hiring process as well...anyway that's it!..later
