If true, then it is a bridge to the Saudi MD90's. Same avionics FWIW. Not sure how the other systems compare.
Hope we get a picture of the DC9, MD88, MD90, MD95 all on the ramp.

I found this on twitter tonight also:
Until they are painted, boarded with DAL ticketed passengers, and DAL pilots are in the cockpit, being pushed back from a DAL gate it is all just a rumor.
I refuse to salivate over the airframes/jobs of fellow airline pilots.
If it were to occur that DAL is in the process of acquiring the 717's, my hope is that the AT pilots either get to the SWA 737's faster(without furlough) or the proportional number of AT pilots have the chance to come with the planes in some fashion.
If I had Morgan Freeman's voice I would sit in a corner and talk to myself for days.

It was apparent the 717s were going to Delta approximately 7 months ago with the announcement at that time of 100 new 737s from Boeing. Delta management had touted an order for 200 aircraft. At the same time, 20 717 available aircraft disappeared from Boeing's website. Plus the approximate 80 717s at AirTran = 200 aircraft. The 717s were the missing 100.
