No way. Forget about it. There is no way we need to open our list up for sport bidding and eat even more stagnation. About 20 of the 717's (even IF this ends up happening) would clearly be DC-9 replacements and its also been strongly rumored previously that at least some DL 737's would go to SWA in the deal: likely orders and possibly even some already flying for DL right now. We all know DL pilots won't get to sport bid onto the SWA list.

Just to be fair, if, in the (IMO) extremely unlikely event that all the 717's go to DL instantly and are not replaced at SWA, then we should work to bring pilots over in a fair manner. I just don't think that's how it would happen even if DL ends up with the airframes. I think Boeing, who is who the leases would be done through anyway most likely, would be more than willing and able to feed SWA new 737's including orders from DL as well as likely some directly from DL anyway.
