Thanks for the mutual support GQ
ShyGuy - thanks for your unfiltered honesty. I realize 2,100TT is a bit low. But all except 87 hrs is Turbine Multi-Engine time. With over 1,700 MIL sorties and the standard .3 conversion it puts me over 2,600TT. That's a lot of flying for only 12 years when your hours build at 1.0 per sortie in fighter aircraft. Still, i would agree with you, not as much as others, but isn't there an argument for quality vs quantity? Seems to me that the majors have preferred that over someone with twice the time but most of it in GA aircraft, historically anyways. It's a fickle industry though, I guess time will tell.

Fighter time is hard to come by. IMO, cycles count for more than drone time on an airway w/autopilot on. Don't want to start a civilian/military "time war", but 2,100 hours in fighters is more than adequate. Hang in there. Hiring is picking up across the industry.

Me too. Also had the request to reapply link on that one too. I sent them an email telling them to fix the glitch since I never withdrew as well as a new resume to update.

6,500tt, 121 CA, internal recs, 4-yr degree, went to WIA, applied every window since 2010, still waiting...
I've seen guys with much less time and quals than I get called and guys WAY more qualified than I not get called.
I think getting the call is more about randomly have your number pulled by a computer than it is how many hours you have. JM2C

American is prepping for new-hires and asking for input from current pilots. Expecting new-hire classes starting this fall. I'm hoping the application process will be combined and this 3rd party recruiting process will be history.

That's exactly how it is! From what I have been told is that the recruiters don't even have control over the system and dislike this 3rd party recruiting process just as much as we do. Even internal recommendations won't help you get an interview.

2,000 TPIC military time is more than enough to hang with the other folks depending on what else comes with the whole package. Behind what is listed on APF, there are likely a lot of other quals (section lead, division lead, mission commander, NATOPS Instructor, SEFE, etc...), all of which hold a lot of weight. How much weight?... however much the hiring dept assigns to it, but there are a lot of ex military in each airline that know what those quals mean, and what it takes to work up toward them.
Hopefully someone else can chime in and tell me I'm wrong, and let me know you can compete at US Air as a 2000 hour military guy.

I & several military guys hired with 2,000 PIC. IP, SEFE, etc compete favorably. I also know several hired at United with the same.
