Just had a buddy get the email invite yesterday, he interviews Dec 9th. Military, all C-130, about 4500 hrs, and he has the type. Apparently, about 100 invites went out, more likely to follow.

Can anyone confirm if WN has upped the number they're hiring to 400?

Anyone at SWA ever hear of someone getting selected at the decision board that did not have their references called?

Rhino,

East Coast will be years. My June 2011 class can't hold ATL, BWI, or MDW. A few of my class are in MCO and HOU. Took 2 years to get there (when the ATL base opened in Aug).

There are still ~ 1,000 AirTran guys to transition and almost all live in the East. I expect my class to get displaced to PHX / LAS / OAK again next year as that happens. May take years for us to get back.

Best guess 3-5 years. That and a 20 year upgrade would make me head to DAL / UAL if I were an East Coast guy.

Good Luck

And I wouldn't worry too much about that collage. The last one I made was in high school art class, and SWA didn't even ask to see it.

Once you are in a base, only the company can displace you. This would require you to be at the bottom of a base list and the company shrinks the base. Someone senior to you can only get into your base if there's an opening via a departure or base growth.
