They pay you 90 hours per month plus per diem from the day you start, until you are done with training. Regardless of how long it takes. I'm still getting it while waiting for IOE after transitioning aircraft. I doubt that'll last much longer.

Is that pro-rated for 6 weeks or is it a $3800 if it takes 4 weeks or 6 weeks?

The reply above this answered your question for UAL, 90 hours per month, so if training takes 1 month you get 90 hours...2 months you'd get 180 hours.

"Quit whining". Really? That's your answer? How about hiring equality. Affirmative action should be history. I made it to the top of the airline pay scale, but what about those who are younger & trying to get a job, only to realize the hiring isn't on a level playing field.

I'm just curious if you think total time is the be all/end all of qualification. Im not poo pooing your opinion at all, I agree affirmative action isn't the right answer. A lot of military (including me) are hired at a LOT lower total time. Why do you think that is?

Forgive me, but if you want to beat the dead horse argument on why mil has lower time vs civ demographic, you're going off on a stale/worn out all too often discussed tangential topic. It's not a mil vs. civ peeing contest.

Keep it to the bold.

Not arguing the dead horse there, just saying there are other "unfair" ways to get hired. Nepotism for example, or just having LOTS of inside people on your side. There will always be unfairness one way or another. It would just be nice if everyone could just be happy for the ones who get hired and not make it such a hostile environment.

And conversely, for those that have ZERO reservations saying that various connections helped them out DONT need to brag/boast about how hard they "worked" to get there.

Guess what? There will ALWAYS be somebody that worked harder than you, often they won't brag nor complain about it. And to take it further, there will ALWAYS be somebody that's STILL working harder than you to make it. ALWAYS been that way, ALWAYS gonna be that way.....

If you've been in this game a while, like MANY of us, this is obvious. Especially if you've been through downgrade/displacement/paycut/furlough/shutdown cycle. Being aware of one's audience can be importan. If you haven't, I've heard that humble pie is pretty good. Just sayin'....

I agree with you, which is why I'm saying complaining about the ways people get hired is a wasteful thing to get upset about.
