It means Shaking My Head. Probably in disbelieve or possibly disappointment.

Thank you. And yes I did bust my ass. I sacrificed over 6 years in the military as lower enlisted including 3 deployment tours in the beginning of OEF and OIF in order to use my GI bill to pay for flight school and college, surviving several close calls with my life. Knocked out school in a little over 3 years to make up for lost time including getting my ratings and working part time to support a family. Got hired by great regional to only get the shaft because we stood our ground while others caved in for concessionary contracts sacrificing our growth and any chances of upgrade for me. But I stayed loyal and didn't chase upgrades and simply flew as much as I could after getting off a long reserve period. I never had any family in the industry, just was nice to everyone I flew with and kept in contact with the lucky few that went over before me. Kept my eye on the prize and the risky gamble paid off and I wanted to show everyone there are different ways to go about doing this that may require thinking a little outside the box or in the sand box in my case ha! I feel incredibly lucky and I realize there are so many other good guys that are still waiting for the call. So thank you again FLY6584!

TPIC isn't the holy grail. He's got a great story to tell about having no mentors, or perhaps financial support, to get into the airline business. So he figures out a way - military service, do well, crank out college in three years, and get in the airline track. The decisions he made to move forward ARE his story and perhaps part of the reason he got called. Maybe the computer looks for 'enlisted then college in less than four years'? It sure bears the heck out of 'Captain for ten years. But nothing else...' when you're doing a F2F interview.

I understand people are frustrated but it was still in poor taste. Kinda hard to gain TPIC while busting your a## for 6 years in the military as a crew chief.. Certainly has just as much (probably more) merit as farting around in the left seat of a crj all-the-while enjoying the good life here in the States..

There is much more to "experience" out there than time in the left seat of an RJ. When certain people understand that maybe they won't be so quick to complain when someone with a totally different (and impressive) background gets the call first.

SiShane is a stand-up individual, which Delta is smart to hire. It is better than an entitled individual who didn't have to work hard for what they got. I know Shane personally and I am glad he is finally getting out of this mess. Congrats, Shane!
