Is this an airline interview or military interview?
All due respect, who cares how you or anyone else think the interview is conducted? (i.e. military/civilian style interview) It's an interview, at one of the four prominent Major Air Lines/Airlines, for an open pilot position.

1) Apply,
2) Interview,
3) Get hired,
4) Enjoy.

It's an airline interview...but apparently they care how you performed previously in your career.

then it is a pointless question that makes no sense. maybe this'll help. DAL is a publicly traded company, not funded by the gubbamint. We have no weapons except for the occasional FFDO

Take away: they know how to read your mil qualifications...and right now they care about all of them. They can still afford to be very selective...for now.
That's all I wanted to know. Thanks for the professional response

Well then explain what it is that you are looking for. It is not a military interview. We are not a military division or contractor. If you don't have fitreps from military service, you can hardly be expected to produce any. You will probably be asked (I do not know for sure because I am not involved with the process) to provide some personal references from your former employer if you are not military.

It makes PERFECT sense of why they'd want to see fitness reports.

However, it adds a twist to view the preference of military based on the "know quantity" and "they know what they're getting".

Almost as if that can now be called into question somewhat.

Before everybody got sand in their V, I think he was trying to dig out whether having a military background would be potentially more hazardous or favorable than a civilian-only background because of the differences in the 'yardstick'.

REGARDLESS of your background, rest assured that they will obtain performance reports somehow. If they can't get them for whatever reason, you're not going to be hired. Simple as that.
