Scambo, I don't really need you or anyone else telling me whether or not I like to hear "inconvenient truths." Purple, like all of us, is free to express his opinions on this board. When he repeats himself while mocking those with whom he disagrees, it gets tiring and the validity of his points gets watered down. Just my opinion, of course!

Oh, and they still have their pensions.

Constructive engagement is working out great here at Delta, where we'll always "get 'em next time."

Hopefully the new guy's ready to mix it up. I'm tired of getting walked on jointly by the company and "my" "union."
But they are still woefully behind the rest of the industry. If that is your measure of success, then you and I live in a different world.

A curious thought just hit me. Will you ever accept a contract that you would NOT say "we'll get 'em next time"? IOW, do you believe there is a contract that would satisfy every item on your Christmas list? I for one can not envision that... ever. It's just like there is no such thing as a perfect, error free flight.

And if you think you are being walked on now, wait until Tim Caplinger and his band take over....

Thanks, guys.

I'm not blown away by the new guy's "opener"...lots of squishy nothingness.

Captain Donatelli stated that he “will continue to emphasize both a collaborative relationship with the company, and I will place an emphasis on MEC strategic planning in order to ensure the Delta pilot careers are protected. Preparation is key; execution is paramount.”
Interestingly, he and Dickson were classmates at USAFA.

That's probably why I find him so annoying too. All his talking points and little jabs just dilute the validity of his arguments... IMHO. If he would leave all that CRAP home, he might get listened to...

So you would have been happy if he had said, "We are gonna **** the company at every opportunity". got it. If you really want a fight so badly, I might suggest going into a biker bar and yelling "Harley Davidson was gay" at the top of your lungs.

So who really helped their negotiations?
Southwest? No wonder we are so loved

Seriously. Everything you post has some kind of jab at dALPA or the people working for you. Apparently they aren't willing to drop the gloves and head for center ice, and that is all that will placate you. Sorry bud, but when you get to that point, you are gonna lose part of what you are striving for. Even Chuck Norris gets bloody in a fight now and then. And even though he always wins, that is Hollywood. Real life isn't so predictable. You are young and want to fight all the time because you think it will make you feel better. There is a time and place, and maybe now we have found one with 117, but you automatically assume that since the new guy didn't come out with a scathing letter that he is a *****. You sir are predictable. And foolish.

I'll wait and see what happens in the coming weeks before judging the man.

Not throwing rocks, I honestly do not know, but what's the latest with your negotiations? How far past the amendable are you?
