If anyone's a fan of little jabs I would think it would be you, T. Come on, Man!

Given the fact that it was 10-9 and the likely choice not getting any votes makes me curious.
What I heard was it was becoming clear with MD's entry that AA had a very good chance of winning if MD was knocked out in the first round. JVS was the 1st choice of the recall group until MD entered the game. There was enough solid support behind AA going into the first round that if they did not elect MD then, AA would prevail vs. JVS in round two. It came down to anyone but AA from the "regressives", but MD was far from and not part of the scripted history. Had MD not entered one of the NYC reps likely would have voted for AA and he'd be Chairman right now. I got the distinct impression MD was not a planned foil to AA and JVS.

I remember hearing part of the discussion during the KR recall was that those who had been on MEC's that experienced a chairman recall cautioned of unintended consequences. I think MD is exactly that, and possibly a very good one, and probably more of a change than KR was.

Let's wait and see. He's up at the investor conference today and I would expect a Chairman's letter in the next week. Does anyone really expect substantive changes on the day he is elected? He deserves, as any new Chairman, a honeymoon period. Let's see what happens in the next few months.

Puppy is just what the doctor ordered to keep this divided MEC on task. He reminds me of Moak in some ways, which is great news. He was something to see during C2K as strike chairman. Best of all he will be respected by Richard Anderson and his crew. He has credibility where Art Aaron is totally lacking.

We dodged another bullet today.
Having watched AA and RA interact previously I think you have no knowledge of what you speak. RA frequently started with "that's a very good question....." to a long response to an AA query.

AA's biggest negative was he mercilessly called it like he saw it on a number of issues including the C2012 TA and the KR recall. He was a palatable threat to the gravy train and established dogma status quo of the entrenched bureaucracy. He had ruffled a lot of feathers that needed ruffling.

66 is saying the Captain Rep from NYC and the Captain Rep from Detroit are two of the pilots that asked Donatelli to run.

That was a strategic nuke, not a tactical one. Not aimed at you my bruddah.

3 of the reps who called Donatelli and asked him to run voted against him.

That type of passive-aggressive behavior isn't how I'd define effective team building or representation. Please Run meets In Your Face. So for the next year, every time those 3 reps ask Donatelli to help them or do something for them, he will wonder if those "Lucys" will pull the football away, again.

Just to echo what others have said, I think Mike is a good guy. I flew a couple of trips with him on the ER out of JFK. He also invited the wife and I over to his rooftop to watch the Chicago airshow when we lived up there, good times were had by all.

Certainly knows his stuff, and has done good work for the union.

He'll get a baptism by fire with this new 117 brewhaha, but I'm optomistic going forward.

(Also, if you ever fly with him or any of his AF buds, some damn funny stories about his antics back in the day)
