New Delta MEC Chairman elected
#51
I'm way beyond words when it comes to DALPA. It's all about actions for me. Period.
But a couple of things stick out. First is the 10-9 vote. By looking at the councils, it looks almost exactly like the vote to recall Roberts. I can't tell, but it looks like Nestor in ATL and somebody else in another council changed their votes, but it was basically the same as the recall vote. Does this mean we're in for more top-down Moak style dictatorship and marginalizing our reps? We'll have to wait and see the actions. Second, we'll know a lot depending on what this guy does with the 4 unelected miscreants on the MEC administration that worked to personally destroy the previous chairman. He needs to send these so-called "irreplaceable subject matter experts" back to the line quickly. If he does that, it may bode well for a new direction at DALPA.
We all have to watch the actions as opposed to listening to words.

Well whatta you know, another vote along north/south lines. Guess the Sharpest Tool isn't just an internet handle.
Puppy is just what the doctor ordered to keep this divided MEC on task. He reminds me of Moak in some ways, which is great news. He was something to see during C2K as strike chairman. Best of all he will be respected by Richard Anderson and his crew. He has credibility where Art Aaron is totally lacking.
We dodged another bullet today.

Personal attacks of those you despise is an unbecoming trait of the Moak disciples. Wise up.

Carl, Carl, Carl. You wouldn't know me any more than I would know you if we ran into each other at work. For you to call me a follower because I don't kowtow to PD's rants is moderately ironic and comical as well from a guy who says he's all about the pilot group. Apparently those who support ALPA, which I've never alluded to one way or the other by the way, are Moak apologists and followers, but those who support you and Purple are leaders. Nice job on ridiculing me while accusing me of doing the same thing. You are something else!

Interesting commentary.
Was MD the first choice of most that voted for him, or did he get the vote to block someone that brought concern for other reasons than those items listed? Did the true concern over Art winning move the room towards unlikely group of supporters to get MD elected? Does the result make most of the MEC satisfied and get them a leader that all can support? Given the fact that it was 10-9 and the likely choice not getting any votes makes me curious.

That being said, let's see how he does! I've heard good things about him from a variety of sources with various biases that cancel out. I like when I hear things like that.
I've got no issues whatsoever with his opening statement. It would have been irresponsible and a very bad thing to come out like a bull in a china shop.

If the guy is from Chicago, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt -- unless he is a Cubs fan.
But seriously, does anyone know what his thoughts are about the 2012 contract? Do you guys think he voted for it, or against it?
