I hope hvydriver is right and the July class is 30+.
Good luck to all showing up in Orlando today for the Jun class. I'd sell a child to be in that class (jk, well, maybe not). As always, I'm looking forward to the class drop. Maybe we'll see it tomorrow.
Cheers!

You are correct fly. It's the 6/18. I really need to focus more. Sorry for the confusion! I wouldn't be surprised though if the July class isn't about the same. They did say they planned on about 100 more pilots for this year. You'd think it would have to be pretty good sized classes to hit that target.

Projected jetblue class dates for 2014:
6/18, 7/16, 8/27, 9/10, 9/24, 10/15, 10/29, 11/12
Approximately 100 newhires over 8 classes. 6/18 is supposedly 34 pilots, that leaves roughly 66 pilots for the next 7 classes. All subject to change according to attrition/growth/shrinkage/etc
I'm not sure how many pilots we have hired so far this year, but it is over 200. They moved forward a bunch of hiring to the first half of 2014 because of part 117 staffing issues. That's why the 2nd half of the year has smaller (and fewer) classes

Well, the first class that started this past Jan has seniority numbers starting at 2611........the latest system bid shows an IOE transfer with a seniority of 2792...........add the guys in training right now and I'd say you're looking at around 2850 or so.....or around 250 new hires so far this year......if we really are going to hire another 100 pilots, you're looking at 300-350+ new pilots hired/trained in 2014 alone.......rumor is 2015 and 2016 will be similar...which makes sense with all the 321s we're taking over the next few years........
Good time to be getting on property right now.........
I was a requal guy (Mil Leave) with the new hire class that started in Jan....don't make the mistake some of them made and pick a plane because it gets you to a base (unless you're offered LGB and live out west)......I saw too many people pick the 190 because they wanted to be in NY....but could have gotten the bus in BOS.......you can transfer the first system bid you're available for and will most likely be able to switch bases (BOS, JFK, FLL)....pick the plane you want and don't look back......good luck everyone....

I saw that........like 5 LGB FO slots......first time I've seen that.....ever.......was more than likely a one time backfill based on LGB FO's transferring back East or upgrading......
I imagine all newhire FOs will continue to be BOS/JFK with an occasional FLL sprinkled in every now and then.....

Wow, I remember there were some vacant slots after the previous bid, but didn't know if they actually went to newhires. That's great news.

Lots of FLL growth ahead.
