In the pool with deferred status pending recency. Hoping for Sept/Oct class. Yes, in DFW. No on June 18 (wish it was June 18). Third week of pitching in the minors here locally to show I've still got the arm. Was banking on the class 28 May (feb 25 interviewee). Was really disappointed but since the 28th of May my wife had surgery and our dog of ten years needed to be put down. So not having the May 28 class actually had less of an impact on the family.

Hopefully no base is closed but I do think the new management will take into greater consideration the designed stage length of the aircraft. According to Jetblues own numbers the 190 is optimally designed to fly a stage length of 400-800 NM's. Anything above the 800 NM's and the 190 becomes more expensive to operate than a 320 on the same route. Barger and the BOD, in their infinite wisdom, have continued to order more of these aircraft and fly them in a similar fashion to the 320.
I've seen a lot fewer of things like JFK-ORD and more things like HPN-PBI. Sure, it's kinda long, but HPN has that pesky seat restriction thing, which would make turning it into all 320s counter productive. Mainly I see a LOT of SJU, which is good for the 190 unless you're doing long haul from JFK or BOS. Even then, you have to balance the cost of actually flying the plane vs the loss of revenue for not having the flight. If it means we capture more revenue, I don't see a problem with running a more expensive to operate plane on the route temporarily. Toss a 321 on there when we get more of them. To either have a 190 sitting around or to add another MCO-ORH just because it's less than 800 miles vs using it on a leg that will generate more revenue but is more than 800 miles is kinda silly.

Eh, can't fault them for taking the deliveries ahead of the 321s last year, even though the 321s have been mainly sitting at the LiveTV hangar in MCO for months. I doubt we'll see any actual deliveries on the ones we still have on order. As Emirates showed this weeks, orders don't necessarily translate into planes showing up.

It is looking like 320 Captain bid should go mid 1900's senority range. Lot's of growth here unless they can find a sucker to buy some old 190's. Looking like another 300 for next year on the hiring front as well. Good luck to those applying, this is a good place to be.
