So the "old south" fraternity hazing system is still alive. Apparently yet another good aspect of NWA was thrown out.

Like ancient DC-9s and 747s?

The fact that UAL and American provide hotel in training plus per diem and 70 hour guarantee sets them apart from Delta...for broke pilots, that's a big deal... Yes career expectations at Delta are great once training is complete but the hotel thing is a big deal

IDK. Ponying up for a crash pad for training vs. a 30 year career? Doesn't seem (and wasn't) that big a deal to me.

Well it's not where it could be, but it's a lot better than the past.
DAL good so far about getting new hires through trng in 75 days or less.
First two weeks have hotel covered during initial. Also, some new hires are going to Miami for sims which gives them a hotel as well.
Even the new hires who use crashed during training find out that reserve in NYC as a new hire can be more of a pain than initial trng.

The training pay is MUCH better, the hotel is provided by the company, the uniform allowance is superior, and a few months out of training people are able to hold various TDYs around the system. Also, the flexibility to pick up open time and maximize your earnings is higher (versus hoping for green slips in your seat).

Agree with the training pay. Now as far as the flexibility to pick up opentime statement , can you expand on how UAL's system is superior to the DAL Whiteslip/Greenslip system?

That seems pretty short sighted to me. I agree with Buzz.
