While I'm happy to have the NWA guys on the same page I'm dissapointed the MECs chose to bow to the company's timeline and rush this thing. Seems like they were so hell-bent on avoiding the US Air scenario that they gave away the farm to me. We should have insisted on a LOA 19 equivalent for NWA or a 1 year transition JPWA and took the opportunity to open DL's Section 6 a little early and rework the whole thing while we had the leverage. It's pretty pathetic for DL guys when you look at how quickly our compensation dissapeared and how long it takes to get a small portion of it back (very small if indexed for inflation). I was hoping for much more meaningful gains in the contract amenable at DL next year, in a most likely better economy. Standing by for huge management bonuses and money coming out of the woodwork for everyone but us.

You got that right
I sold half my 50 shares today at a price of 10.25 I peaked at 10.26. Perfect. I bought in at 4.62 on JUL 14th. I have taken the money to put into other companies but, I'm keeping the 25 shares for long term investments.
Oh, and congrats guys

I think you mean 4 years and 5 months. Then if the economy is strong plan on a absolute minimum of 2 years to get the new contract done. The last pilot contract Delta management negotiated went for 4 years before they sold ASA without a agreement. If we get this contract done only two years past the amendable date your real earnings indexed to inflation will probably be down only about 20 percent since the bankruptcy contract was signed. Remember the last time we signed a concessionary contract and the company went on to record profits and handed themselves more cash then they could hide plus raises for all the other employees. We asked for a mid contract raise and they said "A contract is a contract" No soup for you pilots!!!

Is it not strange to anyone that the NWA guys are "stoked" and "happy to be a part of the family", and all the DAL guys are trying to justify their vote? Congrats NWA folks on your substantial pay raise. Hopefully the company profit sharing offsets the pension the NWA guys are bringing over...right!

It's a good thing our pilot group votes with their brain and not their heart. My emotion says we could get more my logic says this is not the time or place. As far as Sailingfun's comment about 6 years or more,we haven't seen that at DL,maybe DL was trying to figure out what to do with ASA.My bet is that 12k pilots will not stand for a delay if DL is making big $'s.I don't care if manana 99% of our pilot group says they didn't vote for this contract, the facts will always show a 20% margin.

1. When told my Moak to take it or leave it during the initial merger talk, we said no- we don't want to merge.
2. We said we do not support the merger as it stands because there is no way we would work under B-scale.
3. We raised our protest during the congressional hearings on the merger. We testified that this merger is unnecessary and harmful to employees and customers alike.
4. We even contacted Oberstar and filled him on our reasons why this merger should not take place.
That time, we got blamed by many DAL guys that we are trying to f'k up a good thing.
So, spare me the BS that we are so f'n happy to be part of mighty Delta.
We started reluctantly supporting the merger after we realized that nothing will stop it. What is the point in having a split pilot group when the merger is gonna go through nevertheless? We don't want to repeat USAir, do we?
Now that the JCBA has passed, I would say congrats to 'us'. We would be such a powerful negotiating power with 12,000 pilots---but ONLY if we start harping at each other and be unified.

I agree with Finis. I ended up voting with my head because my heart just didn't care. I may hate NWA management and was a proud NO voter on our bankruptcy contract, but I for one will miss the ol' Red Tail. On a certain level, our us vs them spirit worked and our employees really do get along real well for the most part.
I voted yes for a "unity" contract......and I will admit that to anyone that askes. I'll be 55 in Sept (retired USAF) so I will never see section 6. I hope you guys can go back and get some of the nice stuff that used to be in the NWA contract. But, I'll be long gone by then.
Here is to the new Delta! Where is my hat my brothers?

Because this board clearly represents the feelings of both pilot groups. Yeah right. There are many guys who'd be happy remaining NWA pilots, but this is going happen and we need to be unified. Many DAL and NWA pilots know we have to look to the future.
