Well??

Is it not strange to anyone that the NWA guys are "stoked" and "happy to be a part of the family", and all the DAL guys are trying to justify their vote? Congrats NWA folks on your substantial pay raise. Hopefully the company profit sharing offsets the pension the NWA guys are bringing over...right!
...lemmings.

Please don't get it twisted. NWA pilots are not "stoked" or "happy to be part of the family." We bring things to the table and are giving up things as well. The last I checked, YOU were getting a pay raise as well, and just because you interpret NWA pilots to be getting more of a raise, the last I checked, it is not your money to give. This is a marriage, not an adoption.
Get over yourself. If you think you will be dealing with a passive pilot group, thankful to be able to wear "the" double breasted jacket, you are wrong. I and many of my peers are proud to have been Northwest Airlines pilots. If you respect us, you will get it in return. I will even buy the beers. I already owe DAL two.
Maybe the happiness you see from NWA pilots is actually hope that in the future we can join with our fellow pilots to get this profession back to where it should be.
Good luck to us all...

)Dead on, mostly a sad morning in here in NRT.......no toasts, just slogging on towards what lies ahead, like a column of grunts headed for the front and the sound of the guns.
Best of luck to us all..........any rumors on the SLI? Maybe now that the vote is in, the news blackout will be lifted a little.

Yeah. I think the majority of my feelings are, "lets just get this over with."
There is no, "Oh, I finially ge to be a Delta pilot."
As one pilot on our message board often signs off with, I agree with the sentiment that is is time to...
.... shut up and row.
P.S. No word on the SLI. It has been very quiet, which to me means that either they have it completed or they are far apart.

Union guy at JFK last week said the NWA was hard on DOH and DAL on relative seniority. Since the deadline is tomorrow, this is going to arbitration. Well see if we can get along come Nov 20th when the decision is due from the panel. I personally do not want to pay (ie furlough) for NWA having the oldest fleet of the majors. Old DC-9's with a few years left of flying and 74-200's that are getting shut down and parked. I hear your arguement for the 787's but so far that is a "concept" airplane until one is delivered and on the ramp. That being said, welcome to Mother D, the waters fine over here and we need to get along sometime.

There you guys go again. AGAIN, let me refresh you on a couple of things. NWA pilots did not want this merger. Proof? We tried our f'in best to derail this merger at every step.
1. When told my Moak to take it or leave it during the initial merger talk, we said no- we don't want to merge.
2. We said we do not support the merger as it stands because there is no way we would work under B-scale.
3. We raised our protest during the congressional hearings on the merger. We testified that this merger is unnecessary and harmful to employees and customers alike.
4. We even contacted Oberstar and filled him on our reasons why this merger should not take place.
That time, we got blamed by many DAL guys that we are trying to f'k up a good thing.
So, spare me the BS that we are so f'n happy to be part of mighty Delta.
We started reluctantly supporting the merger after we realized that nothing will stop it. What is the point in having a split pilot group when the merger is gonna go through nevertheless? We don't want to repeat USAir, do we?
Now that the JCBA has passed, I would say congrats to 'us'. We would be such a powerful negotiating power with 12,000 pilots---but ONLY if we start harping at each other and be unified.

1. That if they park DC-9's we should insist on a replacements being flown mainline.
2. If they park the -200's, they had better replace them with mainline flying.
3. Furloughs? Out of the question.
4. When the time comes for "us" to really get ours -as in UPS and Fed Ex pay + 5% -10% - then there had better not be any dilly-dallying around by management.
5. With 12,000 + pilots all working together, the above 4 points are well within reason.
I think we can all agree on the above 5 points.
I look forward to working with you guys/gals.
Sincerely,
New K Now (I guess I need a new name)
