You could make as much as, if not, more money as a long Island police officer with some seniority and overtime, than as a AA/Delta/United captian. Those at Mesa should look at a career change. Next police exam for Nassau and Suffolk will be in a few months.

Also look at other big city trooper/police jobs, 3 letter federal agency, etc. You'll be much happier than you are at the airlines.

But then I’d have to live in NY. And babysit adult children while wearing a badge. Hard pass

Hahah yeah who would want to live somewhere they don’t want to live, babysit adult children, wear a shiny object on their chest and have their every move and decision in potentially life-threatening situations scrutinized retroactively by the public who has no idea what it takes to do their job? Wait what career are we talking about again?

I'd rather siphon septic tanks than be a POS with a badge.

No one is telling you to be that POS with that badge. You can be a good person with a badge. If you are a POS with a badge, that just reflects on your own personality.

And considering the way people talk on here, it just goes to show you will be that POS with the badge. Remind me to steer clear of you

I'm talking about the career where you don't have to worry about failed checkrides, losing your medical, being across the country for days at a time, and being paid 36 dollars per flight hour

Seriously though, if you ever want to change careers, and find something better to do than to whine all day on this forum about your pay and QOL, I'll refer you.

Perhaps you should wait until you've made it through a 121 training program before you throw stones. You talk alot of **** for someone who hasn't been on line anywhere yet.

Have the actual numbers for the vote been released yet? Sounds like it was an overwhelming "NO".
