Quote: As far as Mesa goes. We are too fat on FO's until more airframes arrive and attrition picks up.
Is that official or speculation?
you will never know eagle costs. eagle is a private entity. there cost are not public and can be whatever management says with out an proof. flight department at eagle gets saddled with the ground services cost which goes and under bids other companies for ground jobs.

costs at eagle slide as managements wishes them to do, no justification for there numbers have ever been shown. just a piece of paper put in front of the union.

It's not really a secret. Look at reserve levels on flica. 30 hard lines in IAD and 15 available FO reserves on 1 day. You don't need 50% availability of your total awarded line flying. CLT had about the same available. Haven't heard about ORD but either way another 60 guys are coming thru the system.

You know MAGs fat when there sending guys back to PHX to sit reserve. More reserve CA/FO's in PHX...."don't throw them in the briar patch." More guys to mean mug Skywest.

It's skillet, it's official. You're welcome.
You guys really buy the whole regional pilots can't get paid more because the airplanes are small. I am sorry but Delta is parking DC-9 of similar size of airplanes being flown at the regionals. I don't buy this whole BS about an airplane being smaller and can't pay. We are basically flying 76 seat airplanes for prop wages 15 years ago while mainline pilots' hourly rates are approaching what they were 15 years ago. Last I checked the airlines are making record profits and their respective stocks have increase in value. The airline industry was one of the top performers in Wall Street in 2013. Management doesn't pay more to the regional pilots because there is always someone willing to do it cheaper.
So what the cash flow situation right now, anyone got the scoop?Word is J.O. Denied having any "line of credit" to purchase anything.

Not being a publicly traded co. anymore makes it tough to get any idea of the financials.

Performance numbers are lower, planes are dropping out for the holidays and crews continue to get hammered with crap. What gives?

Oh by the way with the new regs. Gentlemen, we have taken the shaft. Min days off, 78 hr lines.....Jeez.

I was JRA'd twice last month. This month, no reserves are flying. Did we lose some credit hours this month? Or have we had a influx of new hires flow into the system?

I agree, the 717, Fokker 100, DC9 and 737-100 have about 20 more average seats than our Airways 86 configured 900's. I'm on a 9 year pay scale as a Mesa FO at 37/hr. A plane that has 25 more seats, the 717 at Delta. There FO pay scale is 122/hr. We are just cheap labor and I don't see the regionals shrinking at all with those pay rates.

Most of the last ten days had one available for the "required" buffer of 8. So ORD is still lean.
Rumor going around that initial cadre class for the Embraer was postponed till March. Anybody got a confirmation on this?
