Congratulations to all my Mesa friends ---- this has been a long time coming from those horrible days after losing all the Delta flying (because of that lawsuit fiasco) and all the CRJ-200 flying for United. You've endured very difficult times.

Took a page out of the Delta playbook - own the planes and move them around to different airlines as you please.

It appears you were able to secure more flying without concessions. Is this true?

Doesn't Mesa have permanent concessions?

Ha! I am surprised they can get pilots at those rates. And an 8 year upgrade? Amazing they are finding 20 a month. But I am amazed they didn't ask for even more to lower the bar even farther. Hopefully Mesa's union will ask for something in exchange to operate a larger RJ.

Next up is XJT. You can be sure they will ask for Mesa rates. We will have to continue to fight for XJT pilots to stand strong.

Larger RJ? They've been flying the CRJ900 for a lot of years. Payrates will remain the same, guaranteed.

I don't think it's an 8 year upgrade anymore. They've been upgrading for a while now. They say 350 pilots hired in the news, but the recruiter said (I know, they sometimes exaggerate) 30/month for the next 2 years. Makes sense as pilots start moving on to the majors. I don't think they ever will stop hiring unless there is another industry wide downturn.

Fighting real hard on a forum board, and with $12.00 dollar stickers! I'm sending you my money... It's comin it's comin. just messin'

So I guess 900s aren't large RJ's.

BTW

MAGs actively upgrading and now at least with no end in sight. So to you that pretty much means every mesa FO u pass in the hall as of now will upgrade in the next 1 mo. to 1 1/2 years "most likely" and seniority dependent as well.

With the need on 9's7's 2's and now 175's ? Not only being short as the draw back to the upgrades. It could also be the slow dwindling of the PHX op. Or no one showing for class but the later doesn't seem to be happening.

SJS will prevail.

But you're right on 1 thing for sure,

" J.O. those pay rates just have to GO!"

30 per month is going to be quite a challenge, especially since now we are talking about pilots who have been around for a little while (getting their 1500hrs) and have a better idea of what they're getting into when they go to a regional. Regionals can't just recruit fresh commercial pilots right out of college like in the past. Sure there will always be the naive ones lured in by the fancy new e-jets and the promise of quick upgrade, but I think generally the pool of potential pilots is a lot wiser now and will go somewhere based on pay, QOL and an airline's overall reputation. The 1500 hr rule means that pilots have invested more time and money into their career by the time they are eligible to go to a regional and I think they expect more return on investment than Mesa can provide.
