No one knows your tax situation so we cannot tell you what it will be after taxes.

I would recommend taking the $29, multiply it by 76 to get the monthly gross pay....then Google "withholding calculator" and enter the info it asks for and it will spit out what you will take home after taxes.

You're in the first wave of new-hires and they come to you after a few short months and say "We need you to upgrade to Captain on this 787", based on your recent posts I assume you'd say "Gee I'm not ready yet".
No insurance company or lessor worldwide is going to insure a 787 to be operated by a PIC with the bare minimum 121.436 quals.

I have 5-10x more hours and experience in 121 turbine aircraft operations here, in China, in PACOM and in North Africa, than a person who just got out of AllATPs with a wet ATP and a bunch of time putting around central Texas/South Florida.

I suggest doing the math yourself. You'd probably average 85-95 hours credit per month. Taxes depends on you.

Ped diem ~ $4500-6500 for the year which isn't taxable most of the time.

I did it and it gave me 2200-2300 per month with per diem included for the second year.

well not the best but if you can get your upgrade at the end of the third year then things can become better.

thank you guys

Don't forget about Union dues (1.9%), medical insurance, and Social Security.

I was just talking to one of my FOs about this and they barely averaged over $2k per month second year, and this is at Envoy. I shudder to think what Mesa is; I know their medical costs are one of the highest, if not THE highest, amongst the regionals.

It's coming--I just got word--use up those Airways buddy passes while ya can!!!
It was the same deal for the Hawaii guys.
Everyone gets UAL bennies...Only guys based in a US/AA domicile get US/AA bennies.
Besides your not missing much anyway. Unless you list for the Jumpseat, Mesa employees are put on the standby list BEHIND D3s! (AA buddy pass holders)
