Enlighten me as to how I'm cheerleading for the bottom feeders. The way I look at it you guys, every single regional pilot, is a bottom feeder. But I didn't get a vote back in the day when this mess was created, and yes I've thanked some of those retiring pilots who boast about their wealth at the expense of scope. Fact is, regionals are here. It also happens to be the path I took to get on with a major. It is what it is.

Yes and no. PSA and ENY are examples of ALPA fubarring at the regionals. But talk to those who have needed the services of ALPA legal, or ALPA Aeromedical. Some of those resources are there to protect the certificate, and they have. More can be done, no doubt. I think as more and more of us (who identify with what you guys do at the regionals) populate the mainline seniority lists, and voice our opinions, that we'll see some changes to the way things are done. Making the regionals a true path to a major rather than simply hoping and praying you've checked enough boxes.

The only fingers I've pointed were at some Skywest pilots who like to talk about how crappy certain regionals, like Mesa, are compared to the rest of the industry. When in reality Skywest really hasn't done anything to better the industry. Quite the opposite as they've enhanced managements whipsaw at Inc. Furthermore, to come on here and preach about how awesome they are when everything in their unenforceable handbook was given to them after it was negotiated by others, is just insulting.

Can some one point me in the right direction where there is a thread about Mesa where actual Mesa people contribute? Hey Facebiter, go play World of Warcraft, would be a better use of your free time...

Point: Skywest hasn't set any bar and is happy enjoying the fruits of others.
Analysis: Here 24 is drawing a conclusion that the contract at Skywest (non-union) only exists in its current form due to the diligent efforts of unionized pilot groups, like Mesa. I'm making an assumption that this poorly veiled insult is disguised as "without Mesa's union and others like Mesa, Skywest would be in far worse condition."
Counter-point: Skywest is eating fruit. Mesa is eating rotten...something.
Analysis: Keeping with the theme of fruit, I chose to make a contract comparison between the unionized Mesa with non-unionized Skywest. Skywest's contract is superior to Mesa's in almost every single way even though they don't have a proper union. Mesa's contract is one of the worst in the industry across the board with the exception of line-guarantee. I purposely left it open-ended so that one could draw the conclusion that it is silly to say that the unionized group of Mesa and their "efforts" to raise the bar has lead to Skywest's far superior contract.

Mesa is buying their own 175 sim.
We do not own a CRJ sim and we have over 80 CRJs.
Take that for what it's worth.....
