What happened to you? Your obsessive bitterness towards this airline is obviously a cover for something. If you're gonna spew this crap out, and force everyone to sift through all the BS you write, at least come clean on why you're so angry. You post garbage about Mesa multiple times throughout the day, on a daily basis. What do you even do? Get a girlfriend, boyfriend, or just a friend in general, hobby, job, or something to consume your time...
It must be hard to sit and stew about Mesa all day long, until it boils over and you feel compelled to write incredibly stupid stuff on an anonymous internet forum. I don't envy you.

I find it hilarious that so many people think they can just pick the regional they want to go to. True, it is easier now than ever to do so, but lets be real, your going to the first airline that gives you the first class date, probably because you want to get your career going and getting 121 experience in your logbook.

Mesa has a lot of good people in the training department. I've heard some airlines, like PSA love to fail half the class over stupid stuff, never mind the person is still a good pilot. When you come to Mesa, the atmosphere is that of one that wants you to succeed, people want to see you pass. That alone can attract a lot of people here. It seems some airlines ego's are a little too big for their own good.

Well, why did YOU come here? Why did YOUR class mates come here.

If your ****ed that people keep coming here, you mister 5-month'r are part of the problem!

Not to mention your incoherent rambling about not flying on reserve, which if you know the slightest thing about how an airline works - is a GOOD thing. Wait til you're a line holder and want to drop or swap stuff. Lots of RSVs is a GOOD thing - your request will be approved.

YOU are in the base you wanted within five months of being hired. (PHX) When I was hired you had to be here atleast 8 years to hold PHX as an FO. It took me almost a year to get the base I wanted at RAH.

Why don't you quit, go to RAH or G7 or XJT, come back, then report to us what it's like to be at a REAL sh*tty airline with zero movement on the FO side. Where it takes 12-18 months just to get off FO RSV - not to upgrade..

Your complaints come across as a whiny ignorant FNG who is out of touch with what your peers in this industry are dealing with.
How was my question whiny or ignorant. I know why I came to Mesa. I have heard why my classmates came to Mesa. Things are changing in this industry all the time. So i asked why are people still choosing Mesa. Same reasons as before. even though some of the other airlines have increased their sign on bonus or have instituted a retention bonus. This shows that the pilots that come to Mesa dont care about the money. That's not why they're here.
So why are you here?

Your delusional if you don't think TSA is better. You get paid during training (single occupancy) at TSA, have a way better contract including better pay and cancellation pay, and upgrade times are 6-18 months depending on your 121 time. That's just to name a few reasons. I have nothing against Mesa at all, but let's be realistic.

I have no idea if it is true or not, I just heard your training program was one of the hardest in the industry, and there was a higher washout rate from the other regionals. Is this true?

The biggest winners are the ones who get lucky, then later their airline announces more flying... Chasing the airline after the announcement is not the way to do it.
When I came to Mesa, there was no talk about E-jets, or fast upgrades. Just fresh out of chapter 11, thats all... Needless to say, I can't complain about anything considering what everyone else had to endure previously with stagnation.
I think the only sound advice is to go where is the most convenient with the shortest upgrade times, and get out as quickly as possible. So many people will make excuses why they don't leave a regional, or can't... Less than 10% of them ever consider leaving the USA, or even have their papers in elsewhere!!! People get comfortable, they start to make excuses to justify staying, then talk themselves into not going elsewhere.
Never get comfortable, never stop trying, work hard towards getting that better job. You will succeed simply for not being lazy.

At Mesa we DO get paid during training, the hotel rooms are single occupancy, we have cancellation pay, and upgrades right now are 18 months.

To be fair, its Line guarantee for the CX pay. I guess some pilots think they are entitled to even more money if their flight gets cancelled?
And 18 month upgrades were true 18 months ago... Probably closer to 24 months right now, but hell, if your CA qualified, JO said he would start hiring street captains later this year...

That definitely used to be true; however, things have changed dramatically over last few years at TSA. I'm sure some of the 'old school' TSA guys can chime in and give an opinion on that. I went through training a year and half ago and it was very well organized and they will get you prepared to pass your oral and type ride. Not to say everyone passes (3 out of 8 from our class made it), but if you work hard and have a good attitude, you will be fine. They gave extra sims to those that needed it. If you can't find your a$$ with both hands in the sim, then they'll politely ask you to leave. I had a very good experience during training and truly like working for this company. It's being run by ex- Comair guys and they have made TSA a very enjoyable place to work.

I know I just posted this on a Mesa thread, so let me also say that I have nothing at all against Mesa...great group of pilots from my experience

If I have 90 hours and start getting cancelled, I don't lose money. You have line guarantee. Big difference. Also, I just ran into a girl in the van who couldn't go home between ground school and sim because your not in CASS yet. That's ridiculous. I'm not hating on Mesa, but there are a lot of differences between our contracts. Paying for KCM and iPads?? Come on now.
