I thought the new law requires regionals to do a sim evals during job interviews?

It doesn't take effect until August 2014. The new training requirement is a prerequisite to take the written test. So, unless regionals are unable to find people (actual pilot shortage?) they will continue to require you to already have the written test completed. It sucks for guys that don't have their atp yet, but if you look at the big picture it puts pressure on raising pay scales.

Does anyone have any info about the upcoming job fair in orlando where mesa will be doing onsite interview? Do you show up with the airlineapp completed and you can get an interview on the spot?

I just used my super awesome google interwebz skills and the answer to your question appears to be...yes you must have completed ( but not printed) airline apps to participate in the on site interview

Seems like airline interviews are fairly uniform, so American Eagle, XJet and other gouges would probably be just as helpful.

I don't know specifically, but I'd say know the limitations on the aircraft you currently fly, be able to read a Jep chart, and study the 'Delta Test', which you can google to find info. Here's a start - http://www.sheppardair.com/download/...ewFeedback.pdf

I don't care what people say about phone interviews. The real interview isn't over until you're signed off of ioe. You have to pass two tests in ground school, your oral, each sim session, a checkride, and ioe. Make no mistake that our program takes work and effort to get through. We won't however show you the door because you made a math mistake in your logbook or because your tie is the wrong color.

Looks like only new hires will staff the right seat of the 175.
They are going to enforce the contract where it says "FOs can't cross bid to equal paying equipment."
Life will be pretty sweet for the first couple classes of new hires in the 175. Won't ever have to experience anything like reserve, and you'll be top in base from day #1.
Not that I would ever recommend someone to forgo seniority because they want to wait for a 175 class.
