Main points are agreed upon, working on language. We're hoping for something by the end of the year.

Well, the negotiations are centered on money right now. Problem is, there isn't much money at Mesa. Hard to get what isn't there. But, they'll try for as much as they can get. Hope to have something to show to the MEC by September.

EJET upgrade classes are now planned for August and maybe September.

Some of the top guys in the union played down word of a new TA when I asked them about it. "Main points agreed upon" means "the easy, non-contentious stuff is agreed upon."

Anyone who has been through a long, drawn-out contract negotiation knows that--until sections on compensation and scheduling are closed and cleaned--you're not really "close to a TA" at all.

From my sources, the company isn't budging on scheduling--stuff like how they set buffers and criteria for swaps/drops/line enhancement. Until that section is closed, I'll be surprised if it's finished in my lifetime (sans some sort of pressure from our codeshare overlords).

How are you guys not in mediated negotiations? I thought you've been in talks for forever now. Maybe I'm wrong.

I don't mean to argue, as language and specifics are a big deal.. And often the death or life of what I would call a "good ta" above the basic hourly rate changes. But that's the official word, rumors and whispers aside.

Buddy of mine pointed out that the belkin iPad bracket has been discontinued. They do have a new replacement but it's not approved.

That's not what the top three people in the MEC have personally told me.
