Reserve in Dallas will be extremely quick - it's expanding like crazy and you'd probably have a line within 3 months, based on what others have been experiencing lately. Maybe someone based there could expand on that. Yes, you'd definitely be able to hold it out of training. Just be sure you're put in a CRJ class and not an ERJ class; ERJ's are exclusively IAH.

Our quickest upgrade was around 8 months for someone who had previous 121 time. I don't know if it'll get that low again, but certainly any future awarded flying (or lack thereof) will affect this. I'd imagine you're looking at 12-24 months. But nothing is certain in this industry.

We have one 200 on the certificate, which the company uses as the basis for sick and vacation pay. It's crap, we fought it and lost. It's especially crap for the 175 crews who aren't even qualified to fly it.

For those that don't read the contract:

Regardless of how stupid it is, It doesn't matter if we have 0,1, or 1000 crj200's; The contract says base pay is at 50 seat rate.

I'd imagine we're fighting to get that corrected in the next contract - as well as lateral equipment switches for Captains - but probably at the expense of better overall pay rates...

I have a feeling that the lateral equipment switches would have a lot of CA's going over to the e jet side leaving a huge problem for the CRJ side. It's pretty bad now in DFW line holding CA's are getting jr assigned left and right. Anyone have any idea what other companies do in regards to this?

However on another thought if this would help secure more e jets and there would be a way to avoid staffing issues then I would be all for it.

I Don't think lateral bidding will ever happen. It costs too much money. Yearly, they might let 10 captains bid over for vacancy. But open lateral bidding will never happen. If Mesa continues causing cancellations on the E-Jet. We will lose this contract sooner than later. Flight Attendent crew cancellations have been prevalent the last two weeks. The huge displacements from CLT, PHX and IAD have caused a number of FA's to quit.

This company WILL NEVER agree to a contract which will allow CRJ CA's to bid E175 CA, EVER.

Good for them. The company needs to realize that employees won't always necessarily follow them around like puppy dogs when you start yanking them around.

True, but then again we should remember this is a regional NOT a major. We are simply hookers going out to make money for the pimps (the majors). That's why I always find it funny when people try to act and or think this is mainline. Unless we were at mainline Skywest of course haha.
