Mesa

Hey guys,
I'm thinking about heading back in to 121 now that the wheels appear to be falling off the wagon. I live in DFW, so Mesa is certainly a choice. I commuted the last time I was at a regional and it sucked. Can y'all give me an idea about reserve and upgrade times in the DFW base? Is it likely that I'll hold it out of training? I have 2500 121.

Our quickest upgrade was around 8 months for someone who had previous 121 time. I don't know if it'll get that low again, but certainly any future awarded flying (or lack thereof) will affect this. I'd imagine you're looking at 12-24 months. But nothing is certain in this industry.

Regardless of how stupid it is, It doesn't matter if we have 0,1, or 1000 crj200's; The contract says base pay is at 50 seat rate.

I'd imagine we're fighting to get that corrected in the next contract - as well as lateral equipment switches for Captains - but probably at the expense of better overall pay rates...

However on another thought if this would help secure more e jets and there would be a way to avoid staffing issues then I would be all for it.

I have a feeling that the lateral equipment switches would have a lot of CA's going over to the e jet side leaving a huge problem for the CRJ side. It's pretty bad now in DFW line holding CA's are getting jr assigned left and right. Anyone have any idea what other companies do in regards to this?

True, but then again we should remember this is a regional NOT a major. We are simply hookers going out to make money for the pimps (the majors). That's why I always find it funny when people try to act and or think this is mainline. Unless we were at mainline Skywest of course haha.
