Mesa

No carrier has been named to operate this new order. So at this point it's all conjecture. Could they go to Skywest? Sure. Could they go to Mesa? Sure.
Skywest DID firm up options for 8 E175's to be operated under the Alaska brand. Is that what you're referring to?

It's a little early for speculation but I wonder if these will simply be added to IAH rather than starting up a whole new base.

United originally ordered 30 175s with options for an additional 40. They are just converting 10 of those 40 options with this announcement. Like a previous poster said, this is a United order, not a Skywest or Republic order.

10 are for sure UAL, and I suspect they will go to Mesa. The other 18 are most likely Skywest birds. The second link I had posted had the Skywest ticker symbol listed. Here's the text of that link:

Thanks for the info.
I hear lots of DFW runs are out and backs- I'm guessing Mesa doesn't put you up in your base, so if commuting, I'd basically need 2 places, or at least a DFW crashpad? Doesn't sound desirable- I know I'd be better off living in base... Will need to look into affordable places near the airport . I'm not at all familiar with the DFW area

Before the Majors start killing their own feed they'll take from the military , expat guys, and other LCCs first. Wouldn't you think?? Tons of expat guys looking for a slot at the majors even though it'd be a pay cut for the first 5 years..I hope everyone gets hired though of course.
