New Mesa Thread

She's a good person, who just has had enough of the bs the inflight "Team" does to each other.
It's mostly fa business. A few names thrown under the bus. Am surprised Artimus wasn't one of them.
Anywho, yes it's out there. Was on my fb feed for about 20 mins, then it was gone.

Also, what are these "Special Projects" that Bryan "Johnsonator" et al are working on?
Sounds like a little shuffling of the deck in the training dept. to me.

No future in run down 200s or 145s. Regionals need a niche props for performance when needed or -900 or 175 doing less frequency. Regional that don't have this won't make it the next 10 years. I don't want to be stuck at a regional without growth or anything to offer, at least I'll be at a place that has equipment that's fuel efficient and profitable when fuel goes up. At some point Mesas contract will improve, maybe not leading edge, but close.

From one old fart to another welcome aboard. Plan on spending about two to three months doing a lot of ready reserve. Your first month off IOE they will fly you a lot to get your consolidation. Then you'll spend a lot of time at the airport usually with two or three other FOs on ready reserve. Why they need more than two is beyond me. So far I'm very disappointed but to be fair I'll wait until I get off reserve to pass a final judgement. Reserve here absolutely sucks compared to where I came from. They don't have a problem calling you at 4 am to tell you you have a 6pm showtime for a flight. Why they need to call you then is beyond me but they will. The crews have been great. Haven't found a dudd yet but I'm sure they're out there. I think my age garners a smidgen of respect so maybe they treat me a little different than someone 35 years my junior. There are some things I like better here at Mesa than my last gig and some things I like less. When it comes to regionals if you can remember the saying "embrace the suck" things may not seem so bad. Expect the company to do what is best for them and not for you.
Where are you hoping to be domiciled?

If I'm on ready do they have a ready room designated for ready pilots to rest, sleep or relax or should I not ask? Is ready 8 hours?

The article and I never wrote anything about money for pilots. But, in order for Mesa to acquire the funding they would have to show the investors that Mesa has the money in the bank, in their CPA's, and their balance sheets. No money for pilots but plenty of financing for planes. There will come a time that Mesa will have more planes than crews to fly them.
I know, but saw other posters mentioning money. You probably already know that next to no one will read the article. They will see the $$, and immediately assume things which are not true.

Recent developments this week:
-Endeavor First Year FO pay is up to $57k with new pay rate, sign on bonus, and retention bonuses.
-PSA now has a sign on bonus, and immediate upgrade if you have the 1000 hrs.
-I was just told Republic's sign on went to $12,500 with prior 121 and $20k if you take the 145. That is, of course, on top of the $40/hr starting FO pay.
The competition for pilots is getting intense.

I think the 175 IAH. Gotta get through the next 3 months, buckle down cooperate and get everyone in the class through the oral, then the sims. Im a team player and hope to learn lots in training. I will Probably try to start a rental house or Crashpad for extra cash, unless someone's got one started. Not really a Crashpad type, so sharing a house would be great. I'm looking at the northwest area. Do most folks have a car or is the transportation good to get out to areas? After I get a line, I will most likely commute in the night before and not stress things until I'm off probation. I don't think I can afford hotels while on reserve if we're on ready. Does Mesa cover hotels during IOE or will I need to pay for hotels in base during this time?

Yes, Mesa pays for hotels during IOE. Yes, the crew room has a room with recliners in it for rest/relaxation. Ready shifts can be 6,8 or 10 hours. IIRC they assign mostly 8 hour shifts.
