Anyone else getting frustrated that every other regional around us is seeing fantastic new TAs that out perform our current contract in every way.
ENDEAVOR AIR MEC REACHES MUTUAL BENEFIT PACKAGE TENTATIVE AGREEMENT
The Endeavor MEC kicked off a series of road shows this week to discuss the Mutual Benefit Package that the MEC and company negotiated over the past several months. The agreement recaptures some of the pay and benefits lost during concessionary negotiations when the company was in bankruptcy. Key improvements in the agreement include restoration of 150 percent premium pay for all open time, 100 percent deadhead pay, increase in vacation pay from 2.5 hours per day to 3.5 hours per day, improved early release provisions for reserves, ability for pilots to convert an end of trip deadhead to domicile to a deadhead home, and an increase in pilot retention payments.
In exchange, pilots would report 15 minutes earlier in outstations, and the company would have the ability to withhold a limited number of pairings from bidding to accomplish OE flying. The company would also increase first year first officer wages and offer a completion of training bonus to new pilots in order to ensure the staffing necessary to support the growth plan upon which the package is based.
That is $23000 in bonus pay, plus an increase in first year pay. 4 HR min day, pathway to Delta, good reserve rules, better travel rules. This is all starting to look a lot more attractive the quick upgrades.

I have this thing called a brain, and connected to it are eyes.
Study the pilot roster, did you know that DFW has more captains than FO's? Wasn't always that way... Do you know why it is that way? They also stopped showing pilot resignations on the roster. Whats the total number of pilots? 1200? Been hovering around 1200 for quite a while now, funny, with classes always full... Mark my words, in 2016, Mesa will be shrinking.

October new hires have moved up about 25 numbers since they started so attrition has definitely picked up, but it doesn't look like it has quite outpaced hiring yet.

Not sure why you guys are so concerned about our staffing. Let the company worry about that, they're digging their own grave.
Me? Why yes I'll gladly sit right or left seat for 200% or 300% pay.

According to the most recent roster, DFW has 192 active CRJ captains and 180 active CRJ FOs. The total number of active CRJ captains is 373, with 332 active CRJ FOs. Some of those captains are probably employed in doing things other than line flying, or sick, or just not flying for some short-term reason, but still listed as active. It's my understanding that Mesa has always had more captains than FOs, as that's how they run their staffing. If 350 of those active captains are currently flying the line, then Mesa has about 5% more CRJ captains than FOs, which sounds about right. If anything, DFW might have too few captains.

I don't honestly know, I'm new to the airlines. I have two friends that upgraded under 18 months, though. That's what finally sold me on coming to the airlines. A lot of people tell me that I'm crazy for leaving a jet job, but I wanted to give this a try.
Growth is a good thing, I think it's the only thing that allows us to attract new hires at the moment.
The company has said it plans to double in size again, from 100 airplanes to 200. This was from mid summer.
For all the negative talk about Mesa on here, I was expecting a plethora of bad things, but honestly, I have nothing negative to report. I knew what the pay was when I signed up.

Not me, tried right seat not too long ago, hated it. Only right seat I want to be on is either a Boeing or Airbus.

I upgraded in 18 months, because of that, I make more money at Mesa than I would at any other regional. For me, Mesa has been shown to be an excellent choice. Would I come to Mesa today as a FO? Only if I lived on base, and didn't need health care, or the money. Just too many other choices that offer better pay and benefits. I really do love the fact that management leaves us alone and the pilot group is a fantastic bunch of people to fly with. I may come across as a hater, but I really am not. I am however concerned, and speak the honest truth as I see it.

Well, you had prior 121 time, I did not, and CPZ wasn't really much of an option in 2013. Happy for you though, everything is about timing and luck

Dear Fellow Employees, Aa/wo
Travel is one of the best privileges of working at an airline. As the largest airline in the world with the best network, it’s an even more compelling benefit at American. It’s our goal to have the best travel program in the business, and each year we review our travel program and compare it to our peers to make sure that statement remains true.
In 2016, once all the necessary system updates can be programmed, we are excited to announce that non-rev travel for both main and premium cabins will be free of charge.
Here’s how it will work:
· Employees, eligible retirees and your eligible dependents (spouse, domestic partner, registered companion and kids) will enjoy Main Cabin, Business and First Class travel at no charge. If the seats are available, you will be in them.
· Just like some popular credit cards, there’s no annual fee! Some carriers waive premium upgrade fees yet require eligible travelers to pay an annual fee for their travel benefits. That’s not the case here. American’s program is ALL free of charge, NO fee travel. Note: Some taxes when traveling internationally will still apply; they’re required by certain countries and airports, and are out of any airline’s control. Similarly, under IRS rules, an employee is subject to imputed income for travel by domestic partners or registered companions.
As you might expect, we’re excited to bring these changes online and begin putting them to use. And although we can’t implement them system-wise January 1, 2016, we anticipate we’ll be able to have them up and running by June 1, 2016.
We are the world’s largest airline, and we’re building the best team in the business by offering the best travel program in the business. Watch for more information in the year ahead. In the meantime, if you’re traveling over the next several weeks, be sure to thank a frontline colleague. It’s a stressful time of the year for many travelers and our team is doing a fantastic job of taking care of them as they make their way home for the holidays.
