Sorry, but in the big scheme of things, 500$ here and there with a couple of new hires is not even measurable on a chart compared to the rest of expenses going out the door. To say they have money elsewhere to do this is like saying that they found a penny on the road and gave it to a new hire, therefor they can afford to give the other 98% thousands of dollars. Im not defending them, but please use better examples

This maneuvers around our CBA, so it should not be taken lightly. It doesn't matter how much of a drop in the bucket this might be. This need to be negotiated through our pilot group, not handed out to select employees as determined by management. Sorry you feel that way but we need to start getting pi$$ed off about this kind of garbage being drummed up by management.

I'll be upgrading into the 175 next spring. Am I going to get this extra pay while I'm in training for 2-3 months? How about the pilots that need a new ipad? Is the company going to cough up $500 for them?

Starting January 2015 their will be private tutoring available for Mesa students struggling with initial training. We have programs that are developed for many different situations that you can find yourself in during the training phases of a 121 airline pilot program. Many of these skills can be applied to other 121 programs that you endure in the future.

We also offer weekend adventure outings that let you let loose, get out of the hotel and have fun with your buds.

Who is the MPT group? We are dedicated Capitan’s and First Officers with Ejet or CRJ experience that currently fly for Mesa airlines. We have many hours of instruction under out belt. We do it for fun and the money. No its not free but its cheaper than a jet transition course and/ or failing out of a 121 program ( you do not want that on your PRIA record and esp the Mesa program)

Are our programs for you?

Are you scheduled for a class but want to be ahead of the game?
Maybe you are having trouble understanding aircraft systems.
Don’t clearly understand how proper CRM is executed in a 121 cockpit
Maybe you know “the book” but don’t know how to apply it
You have all the pieces to the puzzle but cant seem to put it together
Lost in the FMS?
Need more cockpit familiarity?
Don’t know what to be studying?
Lost with the weight and balance?
Don’t know how to retain all the info taught?
We can help.

What do we offer-
One on one tutoring.
Study techniques.
Time management skills.
Hands on cockpit experience (when the opportunity allows)
Extra glass cockpit training.
Systems help.
Help with training review boards. (in the unlikely event you will need it.)
Oral prep.
Phone support.
Attitude training.
Ipad shortcuts.
Bridge the gaps in the training program.
Outdoor activities to relax and let loose.
Help with all the little extra stuff like ordering uniforms, booking non rev tickets, what luggage to buy, KCM enrolment, schedule bidding, extra training material.

Outdoor activities include -
- Camel Back mountain callout hike
- Salt river beer float
- Apache lake day
Motorcycle rentals (limited availability)

Our success is your success. We care about your success as a pilot at this airline. After all it gives us a better seniority number Why spend $2000 or more on a jet transition course if all you need is the proper instruction and a little one on tutoring to bring it all together. Our programs are designed to make best use of your time. Pin point all the areas most students struggle with, and give you confidence in the cockpit.

Disclaimer, We are in no way are we associated or endorsed by the Mesa airlines training department or the airline in general. Our programs are not a substitute for info learned in class or being lazy and not putting %100 percent effort in to their program. We do not give out nor are legally allowed to provide Mesa training material. Proof of employment is necessary. All outdoor activities are at your own
risk.

Contact us today for a full list of packages and prices.

This part I agree with. But again, our Union is more concerned about representing the company's interest than the pilot groups.

New hires - Dont miss out on a great opportunity to pay the new MPT group some of your meager earnings!

What a joke. The outings made me laugh. This is the definition of "paying to have friends". If the person fronting this was actually serious and thought this could gain traction then maybe they would proof read their nonsense first.

As a new hire, answer this question -
Are you willing to pay another Mesa pilot who doesn't know how to write "100%", teach you about your airplane?

I wouldn't trust these guys with a potato gun. Although I'm sure they'll be able to help you with their first hand knowledge on the Training Review Board.

Yup--same thing with the on-time bonuses, the hotel buyback program, and the recruiting incentive payment program--those programs are all forms of compensation not covered by the CBA. ANY form of compensation that is not covered by the CBA must be negotiated through ALPA and LOA'ed.

Don't get me wrong--I am not advocating a "scorched Earth" ALPA strategy where we refuse everything and write cease & desist letters for all of these programs until they are negotiated via LOA or a new CBA...however, it is getting somewhat ridiculous how so many things continue to be unilaterally implemented by the company while ALPA just sits on their hands. ALPA does have the power to require those programs be negotiated through LOAs. ALPA does have the power to say "no" to all of those programs until we're back at the table negotiating a new CBA.

As a side note, there was once a time in this country's labor history where participation in something like that recruiting incentive program would have been strongly reprimanded by the union and pilot group. The logic being "if the company needs pilots, fix the CBA"...and by recruiting new hires to come here--for your own personal gain--you're basically undermining any tiny amount of negotiating capital the union would've gained at the negotiating table.

Personally, I don't blame you if you bring your buddies here to line your pockets. Just mentioning that, for most of the history of labor unions in the USA, that kind of stuff could've gotten you beaten up in the employee parking lot, or at least strongly reprimanded by the union/pilot group.

Don't get me wrong--I love Mesa and love our management team/CPs/all of it. I'm glad our union collaborates with management on certain things. But imho there are some things (like compensation that is not in the CBA) where ALPA needs to stand up and "be" ALPA.

Well then let's call them out on it on the conference calls. No more trips to Vegas to meet with the company for contract negotiations.
