I'm getting the impression that Mesa's normal attrition is being used to support some mass exodus of FOs. Mesa started hiring again in the Summer of 2013. I've moved up almost 150 since I started and a good chunk of that was as a new FO. I'm around the 60% mark and only move up about 3-5 numbers a month, so most of the attrition is guys that have been here less than a year. I also figure about 3-5 training washouts a month based on historical pass rates, so real attrition is still pretty low, but still higher than earlier in the year.

October new hires have moved up about 25 numbers in 2 months, so around 12-13 pilots leaving per month over the last couple of months, including training failures.

Anybody know if a PC or Mac is also needed in training or if the training material is all iPad compatible and no need to bring the extra baggage? Can most things be accomplished with the iPad, or do you suggest to bring both?

Just bring whatever you're best at taking notes with, neither is required. Its mostly lecture type presentation over a powerpoint.

Don't spout unsubstantiated rumors without providing some sort of evidence.

Uhh the fact that he was arrested and its plastered on the news with supposed hard forensic computer evidence is pretty much enough to discuss on the Internet. While he's innocent until proven guilty, his arrest for child porn isn't an unsubstantiated rumor.
