Classes are full because many people are aiming for that referral bonus. I have 100% faith in JO coming up with tricks to keep the classes full. The real problem is attrition, and only QOL improvements will slow that down.

Attrition? What attrition?

People are getting fed up here with a number of things. Can't say that i'm personally unhappy, but, when our contract and pay are not even in the ballpark of other places, people start to get antsy.

If Mesa continues to make this an even worse place to work, they can expect to spend far more than the few bucks they are saving on a bad hotel with what they will have to spend on attrition.

When the pilot group exceeds 1200 pilots, gets into the 1300's, I'll agree with you.

Why are pilots still coming to Mesa?
Lowest pay rate in the industry...no new contract in the near future...quick upgrade is gone...ALPA not defending our pilots and our worthless contract...slow attrition...and more.
Do not respond if you're a Kool-aid drinking management cheerleader.

They're coming because management can still advertise a quick upgrade even though it's really only available to pilots with 1,000 hrs 121 already. That and there's no interview so it's easy to get hired and probably a little SJS mixed in.

As poor as the contract is, its worth defending. If ALPA doesn't see fit to defend and enforce the contract why should management follow it? It would seem to me that both parties think it's not worth the paper it's printed on.

Yea after going back to PHX for AQP a few weeks ago I stayed at the Best Western and talked with some of the new guys and they were definitely not the sharpest tools in the shed. Big shocker I know, and two guys mentioned that they had already had to stop at sim 7 and go pack to FPT, what a waste of money. Most of them if not all were older as well, like way older. Also the only rumor I picked up was the the E-Jet order will go from 18 to 25.

Fml, so mad I went crj. Yeah the new hires get extra Sim plus 4 FPT lessons. One new hear got poached by Endeavor on the van ride to the hotel, he didn't know about their bonus.

He didn't know about their bonus because he didn't do his homework and we hire mostly idiots now.
