If you're thinking about coming to Mesa, don't. Think long term. I.E. - If the market in China crashes in a few months, where do you want to be stuck at for the next 10 years? As a Mesa FO making damn near minimum wage or as a more progressive regional FO making 2-3X that?

Did you pass 5th grade?

Honest question.

Did my truth hurt your feelings?

Does it suck knowing there is more to being a captain than a seniority number and collecting a larger pay check?

As far as Ejets, I've been told by one person in upgrade that there is more CA's leaving than upgrading right now, most going to Spirit, Jet Blue, and a couple to mainline. Also heard that the Ejet is more automated than an Airbus. Call me crazy, I like having something to do while flying.

First part is not even close to being true.

You've misconstrued every point that flaps and/or I have made. You're comprehension seems to be lacking; his question of did you pass the 5th grade doesn't seem too far fetched. Of course being angry that one can't use curse language to help make his/her point doesn't help.

One is not painting a broad brush that all 2nd career/retirement age pilots just getting into this career are horrible; simply, that these folks have a much more difficult time with the automation on the E175.

I hope I have simplified the topic at hand enough for your understanding.

Last month we had 14 above me, presumably all captains, leave. Not that far off.

I moved up 11 numbers and it certainly wasn't all EJET Captains. Some CRJ left too. That was by far the biggest jump in the last 18 months. Historically, 1-2 EJET Captains have been leaving a month. Since we've been upgrading around 10 Captains a month for most of the preceding 18 months, to say we're losing more Captains than we're upgrading is not even close. Don't get me wrong, I hope it changes, and I hope this month is the first of many that Mesa Captains get to move on in bigger numbers.

Well if this is the case, I'm curious why the training department doesn't seem to be keeping up with the upgrades. Last standing bid had 10 slots, they awarded only 5 apparently because there were 5 prior that couldn't get in class as scheduled. Something to that effect. IF what you say is true, looks like a potential staffing issue is on the horizon because of simple training delays.

That damn algorithm they have to determine who gets the Hogan is frustrating. I've got friends with excellent experience, clean records, awesome GPA, LOR's, job fairs......yet their phone doesn't ring. Meanwhile, we've got new-hires who have the gall to pull their phone out during their LOE.
