I can't take the pay and lack of benefits much longer, if you were considering another Regional, Who would be on your list for consideration, with pay and benefits as a driving factor?

Thanks

I like most everyone I have works with at Mesa and have found helpful advice from them in the past.
How long have you been here? Do you really want to quit and start back at the bottom, go through another training cycle, etc.? Your pay will go up when you upgrade, and despite the people on here insisting the quick upgrade is gone (to try to keep the right seat empty for negotiating purposes), we are still filling classes, adding planes and will announce more new flying. The quick upgrade is here for a while, especially if you are already on property and out on the line, and our attrition off the top is picking up. Remember when FaceBiter was on here railing against Mesa saying the quick upgrade train left and everyone coming here was stupid? Well he was wrong. And now that a few of the former Mesa cheerleaders have upgraded, they want the right seats to be empty so they have more leverage in our ongoing negotiations.

The only way I would make a lateral move from Mesa is if you are currently commuting and could go somewhere else and live in base. It's not roses and butterflies at other regionals. SKW guys seem to be getting abused since they have no reserves. The wholly owneds, while they have decent AA priority and travel bennies, aren't great. A PSA buddy of mine who started there a little less than a year ago hates it and wants to bail. ENY? Yeah right. Piedmont? maybe, if you live in base. XJT? No way. CPZ? I'd do that if I lived in a CPZ base. RAH...yeah right. 9E? Maybe, if I lived in base. I'd ride out the low pay, but I don't know your situation/hours/proximity to upgrade. At least for a little while longer as you watch the trends with attrition and gain experience.

he is not a dick. he is just an idiot.. the type of pilot that nobody wants to fly with. the guy with the big ego..the person who tries to teach everybody while he knows nothing. the person who thinks is smart while being fooled by everyone. as for me I am just spending sometime on the forums. I am not even a Mesa employee

My CFI friend is also comparing airlines and pulled this info together from the APC Airline info pages. It's just APC Data pulled into one place for convenience. For all those asking which regional you should choose, this may be helpful.

APC data was used for pay rates and bonuses. For hourly rates, if there were different rates for different A/C Types, we used a blended rate to keep it simple. Same thing for bonuses. If you want a Captain chart, we can do that too.

If any data needs to be updated, let me know.

EDIT: ExpressJet also just went to $40/hr year 1 and has a DFW base. The graph hasn't been updated yet for this.

Also, the sign on bonus the graph shows for Skywest is only for pilots with a type rating. Xjt has the same deal.

Good luck with your decision.

The data used for the graph:

Default Thank You

Thank You for your reply, this is very much the kind of info I'm looking for, plus, I'm trying to talk to people working there.

Just trying to weigh money and benifits I need to make in near future, might not be able to or want to wait till a possible upgrade.

You could also take the experience you gained at Mesa and find a local corporate gig which should pay better than any regional and most likely a much higher QOL.

If your not a Mesa employee then why you here? You think you can profile someone from an Internet forum? That's funny. Okay take your dramatic self somewhere else now.

I've got my apps out, I used to be a part -91&-135 pilot, I will go back if I get the offer I'm looking for.

I enjoy this job and the people here, I just can't afford it anymore. I thought when Recruiter told me I would have benifits, I did not know at the time that I would not be able to afford them.

There should be no reason why any person shopping regionals right now to even be considering Mesa, unless they just have a horrendous record and can't get hired anywhere else which is pretty much the case now.
