Dfw and Phx are fine. iad fo has 4 for the month but 0 open time. IAH is short. WAY short on fo. Look at it. Everyone got a line plus still have what looks like over 600 hours uncovered. This is the Mesa most of us are use to.

What are you guys in DFW/IAD seeing? IAH FOs?

The breaking point for any growth in this industry is when attrition from both seats equals the ability to find and train new bodies--you can't bring new planes online if your new hires are only covering CA/FO attrition...maybe this is just a fluke in IAH, or a temporary backlog in the pipeline (like I said, we definitely have upgrades in the pipeline, and it's traditionally a busy month). But these are the lowest numbers I've seen since maybe 2013, and that was before the hiring pipeline was really in full gear.

So it seems like the ship starting to list a bit...only time will tell if she'll continue to beam on over, or if they'll get her back upright...I think we'll know by the end of the summer peak

Well, like others have said, there are a lot of captains in training for the ejet. There was some very big classes of FO's at the start of the year, I'd expect them to start trickling in over the next month. We'll have to see how attrition holds, but the sky isn't falling quite yet.

Pardon me if I am in the incorrect thread, but looking for info on Jumpseating on a Mesa flight (dba United Express) out of IAD. I am a Copa captain out of Panama and Copa and United recently signed a reciprical jumpseat agreement for cabin only access. The letter of agreement mentions United Express, but none of the carriers specifically. Is anyone there at Mesa familiar with this? Hope so, and look forward to giving a ride south to central/south America.

If you have a reciprocal agreement I would imagine you just list at the gate. If that causes you trouble, try listing through your pass bureau.

If any data needs to be updated, let me know.

EDIT: ExpressJet also just went to $40/hr year 1 and has a DFW base. The graph hasn't been updated yet for this.

Also, the sign on bonus the graph shows for Skywest is only for pilots with a type rating. Xjt has the same deal.

Good luck with your decision.

Are people really still actually considering flying for Mesa after seeing the gross disparity here?

Well just like the story mentioned from the guy a few pages back. All some old guy having a mid-life crisis and wants to fly a shiny jet for a hobby just has to pick up the phone and get a class date, hence why we have no leverage.

And just think... If you change your attitude a little bit, you, too, may live long enough to to become one of those "old guys having a mid-life crisis", and then you can look back here and see all your disparaging remarks towards older people, and hang your head in shame.

Just remember... Some of those "old folks" you like to put down have been flying since before you were born.

You are just as guilty of filling a right seat and reducing our leverage as a newhire is. You could have quit and gone to endeavor (or other) and made more money. And your lack of respect for older folks is embarrassing.

I have a question since I really have no idea. With all of the attrition at Mesa, how many of those leaving are "older guys"? More than the younger guys leaving? Equal? Less?
